Dr. Karen Zurek Pantazis, MD

When it comes to my experience with doctors, I've had more disappointment than satisfaction. Dr Pantazis is tied in first place with the best two doctors I've ever had. She asks me all the right questions, she takes copious notes during our visit, and she has the right temperament for the pain mgmt field. She does what she needs to in order to protect herself AND provide the care her patients need. That's a fine line to follow, but she does it better than any doctor I've worked with. Anyone who's trying to doctor shop or get pain meds for illegitimate reasons should pass on Dr Pantazis. She will see right through it. She offers things that help improve overall health and pain, not merely mask it with pain meds. The best thing that's ever worked for my pain is trigger point injections. Her method is more involved and produces better results than anyone I've worked with. I take comfort in her firm, fair demeanor, and I always know where she stands. I admire this in her and wish I was… better at being this way. Lastly, Dr Pantazis expects her patients to take responsibility and do their part in caring for themselves. For instance, if she prescribes physical therapy, she expects us to follow through and will follow up on our progress at the next visit.
