Worst physician experience in my entire life.

Dr. Raines has been seeing my son for 17 yrs. now, he is about to age out of her care and he doesn't want too. She has an excellent demeanor with her patients and takes time to talk to the parents. We will miss that personal touch (she always remembers us) whenever we HAVE to move on!!!!

Dr Raines not only knows what she is doing, she does it well!!!!!!!! I saw a comment that she doesn't have a bedside manner and I totally disagree. She does not sugar coat her diagnosis but that doesn't mean that she doesn't care. She is about helping sick children live the best life possible. Sometimes there are only a few minutes of time that she has with these children and parents and she is concerned with the problem at hand. You don't have to be a social butterfly to qualify as havng a bedside manner.With that being said it is hard to hear that your child is not perfect in everyway and then you add to it a major medical concern, don't expect her to tell you with a smile on her face. My son remembers Dr Raines as the one who tickles him not as his pediatric cardiologist. She is sure that he is the center of her attention and that is all that matters! Over and above that we get confirmation that my son will need to come back. He will need further procedures as he grows. And in the… last 6 years since his first procedure there have been remarkable advances made and when it is time for round two, she'll be up to date and ready to guide us in the right direction. I feel that she cares about my son's medical condition and how she can make that better for him!!!!!!! What more could a parent want from someone who has their child's life in their hands????
