Dr. Karen M Rieger, MD

Dr Rieger was my Thorasic surgeon for a right wedge biopsy.It was diagnosed as IPF. Dr Rieger ,her assistant and I met prior to surgery to discuss allergies and pain medications.They were informed from my records about my Latex allergy and my non-tolerance to oxicodone.This conversation was totally ignored and as a result a Foley latex catheter was used anyway. I had to come into the emergency room three times for the bacterial infection I contracted while I was in the hospital,therefore I had a catheter in for the next 35 days.I feel Dr Rieger was responsible for my care and my safety.Medications such as glucose and insulin were used on me like a test rat.I was discharged without any medications for the bacterial bladder infection or care that I would have to return to the emergency room 3 times. They are blaming this on an enlarged prostate this did not cause my bladder infection or my urinary retention. The very sad thing about this is the excuse was she was off duty and not on… call the Sunday I was discharged.As a doctor you did not protect me from harm and actually allowed me to be harmed.
