Dr. Karen B Shackelford

Dr. Shackelford was very attentive and professional. She was extremely knowledgable and caring. I received excellent care! I wish she could be my PCP.

- hope she returns some day. She was so kind and compassionate towards my family, while obviously very bright and efficient. She saw my mother who lives in Quitman, MS, while she was working in the ER. My mother was dying and had to be transferred to a larger hospital, but Dr. Shackelford sat with her between patients and just talked normally to her, which relieved her anxiety. She died a few days later but I will never forget Dr. Shackelford's kindness. I thought of her the other day when I drove to Quitman and visited my great-aunt, who told me she had heard Dr. Shackelford left medicine shortly after she treated my mother. It was a real treat to find such a competent and well trained doctor in a small rural Mississippi town in the middle of the night.
