Karen Anne Tillotson, PA-C

Karen Tillotson, DHSc, PA-C, is a physician assistant in the Department of Neurology. She cares for people with a wide range of neurological conditions, seeing them in both outpatient clinic and hospital settings.She performs histories and physical examinations, orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic studies, prescribes medications and performs lumbar punctures. She also provides education to help people better understand their neurological conditions and treatment options, from diagnosis through ongoing management.Dr. Tillotson earned her Doctor of Health Science degree from A.T. Still University in Arizona, where she also completed a Master of Science in Advanced Physician Assistant Studies with an emphasis in family and emergency medicine. She completed her physician assistant training at Midwestern University. She appreciates “being part of a dedicated team that works collaboratively to provide the highest quality care for our patients.” She adds, “What …inspires me most is the opportunity to support and mentor the next generation of healthcare providers. Watching learners grow in confidence, knowledge, and clinical skills and knowing I have played a role in their development is both meaningful and motivating.”Besides her clinical work, she serves as director of physician assistant services and director of the Neuroscience Advanced Practitioner Residency and Education program, and she is adjunct faculty in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at King’s College.
