When I was growing up, I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian. I really loved animals! Started at NC State and had a change of heart, and after a few summers of coaching and teaching children at a local pool, I began to think of “human medicine” as an option. During college, I worked at Rex Hospital as a receptionist in the emergency department, and then I got a job with Kaiser Permanente as a medical assistant in their OB/GYN office on Blue Ridge Rd. I gained admittance to ECU Brody School of Medicine and began my medical studies in 1988. It was a close call choosing between family medicine and pediatrics, but after some specialized rotations in my 4th year of med school, I decided on pediatrics. I have never regretted that choice! Taking care of babies, children, and adolescents as they grow and become amazing young people is one of the greatest joys of my life. It is my privilege to partner with their families in guiding them toward adulthood.

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews

Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.

Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.

Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
