Dr. Karen Lea Whiteside, MD

As the other review stated, Dr. Whiteside frequently misdiagnose and isn't interested in listening to your concerns. We refuse to have our child seen by her and would opt to go to the urgent care or ER instead. Southwest Pediatrics will be so much better off if she ever leaves.

She will not listen to you. She does not care that you know your children and know when to be concerned. She has already made up her mind as soon as she walks through the door. She has missed diagnosed my kids three times! That was enough for me. No, he does not have an ear infection, just allergies. Less than 6 hours later there is green puss running from his ear in a river down his neck. No, he doesn't have strep, he's not acting sick enough. But, Dr. Whiteside, my children handle illnesses very well and as long as their fever is under control they will play and act normal. No, he's fine. An hour later he is swabbed at another facility and it was positive for strep. No, he's fine. There is nothing wrong with him. He's not breathing too fast and I think his cough sounds normal. He's just not making any effort. Four hours later we are in the ER getting emergency nebulizer treatments, IV fluids, and steroids. He was 8 months old. I will not see her. If she is… the only person that can see our kids as an add-on sick appointment I will pay 5x as much to take them to urgent care.
