Dr. Karen K Wies, MD

She started off great, then I felt she didn't care. She was always in a hurry. Didn't even bother to ask ME what was going on. All she did was order BASIC tests that medicare would pay for. She once came over to the chair I was in and touched by back for 2 seconds and says... you have muscle spasms in your back and ordered a muscle relaxer, which I RARELY take and have a full bottle months later. I had to tell her I wanted a referral to a Gastro Dr. and had to tell her who I wanted to see. I'm just not sure what happened, but she just didn't seem to care anymore. She has since moved on, and she spent more time the last time I saw her complaining that she was out of a job and had to move to FL. I had to hear that entire story instead of her being a Dr and asking me what was bothering me or what my issues were. I'm glad she's gone now and hope I can find a more caring Dr and one that seems truly interested in what is wrong with me.

Told her needed refills. Didn't send them. Will run out before they open

Opened the exam room door and began yelling at me to “get out of her office. I don’t have time for this.” She then told me I had gotten Norco 2 days before. I had not gotten Norco for several years and told her so. She called me a liar. I told her to let me see where she had gotten that information. She returned with a paper and yelling said “here it is.” Then she started tripping over her words because it was not true. She didn’t apologize. I asked her to refill my fosamax for my osteoporosis. She said she would not because I did not need that medication. I have the bone density test results from less than a year ago that verifies that I’m at risk for fractures. She started yelling again for me to “just get out of my office.” She then started yelling in the hall that I had spit on her. This is also untrue. Hippa! Definitely not observed by her. A doctor that lies is dangerous. Not professional or caring at all!

Very compassionate. She broke the news I had cancer. Always understanding. Listens to you. Unfortunately I had to move from Tyler but I miss her as my doctor. PS. The complaint about her being on the computer too much. That's not her. That's ETMC. She hates it.

Dr. Wies is very thourough. She makes sure her patients gets the care they need. My dad and I both see her and she is wonderful and her nurses are great also.

I've had a lot of doctors in my life. I believe Dr. Wies is the most thoughtful, thorough doctor I've ever had.

Dr.Wies has a very comforting manor, yet she is very intelligent and knowledgeable regarding the latest trends and medical technology . She is very "in tune" with other specialties and the specialists that she chooses for referrals are "top notch"I can see why she is consistently chosen as the PATIENTS CHOICE AWARD.Satisfied Patient !!!
