Summary
My Profession and Why I Chose It
I am a neonatologist. This means I am a hospital based physician specializing in the care of newborns, particularly sick and premature infants. I chose this subspecialty because I love children and I love the challenge of caring for our smallest patients and their parents.
My Practice Philosophy
Hug your kids and hopefully, thank god, you don't need my services! But if you are reading this, chances are you are a parent of a premature infant or an infant with a medical problem. I can only promise you that I will care for your baby to the best of my ability and will keep you informed of your infant's progress as much as possible.
My Tenure with Kaiser Permanente
I have been a part of Kaiser Permanente since 1998. Over my years with Kaiser, I have come to appreciate the great teamwork our staff has in the care of our infants and their families in the Intensive Care Nursery. Our staff (nurses, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, physical & speech …therapists, x-ray techs and social workers) work to make a challenging and stressful time in the lives of our infants and their families as comfortable & pleasant as possible; providing not only loving care for their infants, but also education, support and a "shoulder to lean on" for their parents.
Why I Like Practicing Medicine at Kaiser Permanente
I love working for Kaiser Permanente for many of the reasons I just stated above. I also have the freedom to practice medicine and treat the babies & their families as I feel appropriate. Sometimes, a study or test on a baby needs to be done, not necessarily just for medical indications, but to aleviate anxiety in his/her parents.
My Personal History
I was born and raised in San Francisco. I recently adopted a child from China. I enjoy hiking & bicycling. I take an annual summer trip to Yosemite National Park and am a supporter of the Yosemite Fund. I am a big fan of the Sacramento Rivercats, Kings and Monarchs (actually I love almost anything to do with BASKETBALL!).

Ensuring Data Transparency and Trust: A Guide to Vitals Doctor Listings and Reviews
Our provider data is gathered directly from physicians and publicly available databases. Providers who verify their profiles gain the ability to update information, offering additional details about their specialties, education, treated conditions, performed procedures, and accepted insurances.
Reviews on Vitals are submitted by users only. Recognizing the valuable insights these reviews offer into a doctor's reputation, we maintain internal policies and protocols to ensure the quality and accuracy of all reviews. Importantly, providers cannot delete or alter reviews independently. Reviews can only be deleted or changed following an internal assessment by our customer service team.
Your feedback is highly valued and we encourage you to contact our support team should you encounter any issues.
