Dr. Karen Ann Young, MD

Dr. Young was my doctor for 15+ years and it is disappointing to say she is NO longer my doctor. Over the years, her office staff has changed and not for the better. Her staff's performance was very poor, especially, the business/billing department. They created/falsified charges on dates that I did not have appointments and I had to provide proof of all of my appointments and payments because their system was incorrect. Which I think was intentional because there were too many discrepancies. I refused to pay for charges of services not rendered. If you decide to be a patient at this office, please keep organized documents of appointments and payments. I recommend paying with credit card or check for your proof. The billing/business department staff are very passive/aggressive. I can recall on two occasions, I complained to Dr. Young regarding my concerns regarding the billing department and nothing changed. Even during Covid, I needed a refill on my eye drops instead of them calling… in a prescription that I have used for 15+ years to the same pharmacy I have used for years, they insisted I do a telehealth call and I told them I only needed a refill. I specifically asked would I be charged for the telehealth call and I was told by her staff, No I wouldn't be charged. I did the telehealth call and it was a complete waste of time because I told Dr. Young I only needed a refill and I asked would I be charged for the telehealth call and she said Yes. Days after the telehealth call, I called her office and I told them they charged my insurance and that my insurance is stating I have a balance owed for the telehealth call. Her main billing/business employee told me I wouldn't be charged because of Covid and she would have to fix it in the system.

Not on top of employees. Dr Young seemed knowlegeble but didn’t inform me very much about condition without being asked. One tall young woman working there was all about her interests and status than being caring to an older senior. She interrupted the testing when a tall young man was trying to do his job on machine. She stood wrapped around the door jam in a sultry position talking about plans of hers and asking him questions. She stayed there until he turned around & interacted with her and talked with her until machine test was over. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. That was my time with tech, not hers. Then on next visit, I was sent to test on another machine in back. She muttered something to new girl tech and walked out. The new tech couldnt get machine started so we sat there until she came back. Blamed me, patient for looking side to side seeing light when i was only to look straight ahead. She came in and said, we will have to rescedule you because we have a whole bunch of people waiting… on machine. Test was never finished. I was billed for all services after presenting my ins cards upon arrival. I explained that if my ins would not cover all the services, then i could not have services.

Dr. Young is a very caring and professional physician. I trust her completely with the care of my eyes. I highly recommend her!

She is an outstanding doctor. She is a very professional with excellent skills. She is caring and listens to her patients. She gives the possible care and her staff do the same. The office is very professional. It is a pleasure to be treated as a person and not a number. I came in touch with her when my husband developed cataracts and later glaucoma. She has a very professional relationship with him when I developed cataracts, I immediately came to her. My surgery was a complete success. Dr. Young has always been polite and listens to our concerns.

My child's first visit to Dr. Young's office was AWFUL. I don't know how she looks because her back was turned to me the whole time. She's not a people person. I wasn't expecting to socialize, but common courtesy would have been nice.
