Always friendly and caring.Office staff/nurse hurried, not very friendly

Dr. Karen Dillard is both knowledgeable and compassionate. Her reputation is firmly rooted in this community. Kudos to Dr. Dillard!

Caution--does not follow guidelines set by the American College of Gyn or Gastroenterology. She decided to do a colon cancer screening test while I was on the table without getting consent first or explaining the risks/benefits. Turns out, screening should start once you are 50, only earlier if you have symptoms/family history. I don't meet any of that criteria. Plus, I would have had to pay for the test completely out of pocket. Insurance won't cover tests that the expert Colleges say are unnecessary. So, why is she ignoring the recommendations of the experts--the Board of Gyn. and Board of Gastroenterology? I would definitely not recommend her. Also, after a pap smear with results placing me in the low risk category, she still wants to repeat the test in one year--again, not what the College of Gyn recommends.

Everyone was very nice except for the ultrasound girl.

First, I hate that I have to give two stars because in some categories that is so not true. I saw Dr. Karin Dillard for my annual appointment. No big deal, discussed the normal things. She had said if I happened to get pregnant to give them a call. (My husband and I were trying.) Two weeks later I found out I was pregnant, called the office like directed. Talked to some lady and scheduled an appointment to confirm the pregnancy with a blood test. Went in two days later and was informed that they not only don't do blood tests in the office, they don't do them at all. Was treated very poorly by most of the office staff during that whole fiasco. I ended up leaving and was going to give them one more chance. (I had one other occurrence with this clinic previously). Two weeks later (still pregnant) experienced some bleeding and called several times to talk to someone. I ended up having a miscarriage and had no clue what was going on. Luckily I somehow got in contact with a new doctor… (because I went searching just to talk to someone!) and was treated with more care than I ever was with Dr. Dillard. Not once did I ever feel cared for and when I informed her of irregular periods she said it was normal. With my new doctor we found out it was actually a thyroid problem and that is something Dr. Dillard would have never looked into. If you're looking for a doctor who only does their job for the money and not because they love it, then she's the one for you. Especially all their staff because they all seem to hate their jobs. If you want a doctor who actually cares for your well being and general health with everything, she's not the doc for you. I will not only never see Dr. Dillard ever, I will never step foot into the Longstreet Clinic again.

This provider "diagnosed" me without doing an exam. She continually interrupted me when I tried to tell her my symptoms. She suggested a link between an unrelated chronic disease and pregnancy which is unsupported by research (I did additional search work to verify this). Worst physician I have ever seen.
