Dr. Karin Maria Hodges, PsyD

Dr Hodges has gone above and beyond the usual attention to help my son. If we had not found her, he would be in a very different, somewhat dismal, situation. She took my son on as a patient when others wouldn't. She quickly noticed things in my son's demeanor and presentation and offered very successful relationships with other providers. She has been instrumental in helping me become a better parent. We don't have a ton of "disposable" income, but this was the best investment we could have made. Dr Hodges was sensitive to our financial situation, and made sure to clear costs with us ahead of time. I can't not explain to you how much Dr Hodges' knowledge, expertise, empathy, kindness and connections with other providers has saved my family. My son is now thriving at college. This would not have happened without the care of Dr Hodges.

Dr. Hodges has made all the difference not only for my son but our family. My eldest was experiencing anxiety but our parenting style was contributing and reinforcing his tendencies. She worked with all of us to change course. Over the years, Dr. Hodges has been there for our son whenever he needs to check in but also there for us as parents needing advice about a new situation and skills reinforcement . She's warm , insightful, up to date on the latest research, and always generous with her time. We are lucky to have worked with her.

Choosing to work with Dr. Hodges was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made as a parent. She’s helped our anxious son over the past few years, and without her guidance he wouldn’t be as happy, flexible, and courageous as he is today. Dr. Hodges is also the most responsive provider I’ve ever met. She returns calls quickly and is there for you in moments when you need her help most. She helped us guide our son to change the trajectory of the path he was on and this has made all the difference for him and our family.

Dr. Hodges has made such a tremendous difference in our lives. Our 19-year-old son has never been better. If you feel lost and are tired of the daily battles, I urge you to reach out to Dr. Hodges. She gave us and our son a way to move our lives forward with more peace and opportunities for real growth and change. Dr. Hodges has been a life saver for us. Wish we had known about Surf's Up years ago, it would have saved our family from a lot of pain and wasted time. She is easily the best provider we have ever worked with and she has had a huge positive impact on all of us.

I wish I had followed my gut instinct on this psychologist a couple of months into treatment. Sadly I did not and my child paid the price. Dr. Karin Hodges ticks the boxes of many things on the list of a bad psychologist. Over talking, poor boundaries, unethical sharing of information, disorganized billing and going over the time booked for appointments and charging for it without checking first. She also shares may too much information with a child which is highly inappropriate. I found her inability to really "hear" a huge problem and she is very focused on sending her patient out to many other providers for "back up". Dr. Hodges lacks experience and confidence in her chosen field and is a catastrophic thinker which is very unfortunate for her patients and creates a lot of unnecessary angst. I highly suggest that you do not proceed with this psychologist - there are other truly skilled options in this business who will not create greater issues than the ones you started with!
