My brother, a truck driver, had symptoms of a stroke while on the road. He was taken to Hedrick Hospital where he received excellent care and then was taken by helicopter to St. Lukes where he was fortunate to have Dr. Karin Olds for his doctor. She was very thorough in the tests she requested. My brother's wife along with my niece and nephew flew in. All of the messages coming from them kept praising Dr. Olds and the great hospital staff. I want to personally thank Dr. Olds for the excellent care she provided to my brother and his family. My brother was lucky to end up with minimal damage from the stroke and is expected to fully recover. Without the excellent care he received at both hospitals, his outcome could have been a completely different story. I have been told that St. Lukes is one of the three top hospitals for strokes in the Country - maybe it wait fait that he had a stoke in Missouri and was treated at Hendrick Hospital and St. Lukes. I took my father to see Dr. Olds and she was marvelous! She spent a long time with us, explained his disease process clearly so that all of us could understand. She also did a thorough physical exam. She seemed very knowledgeable and had a great bedside manner. I would recommend her 100%.
