I was being treated at the U.W. Verona clinic for diabetes. IN OCT 2017 my ins. company decided they no loner wanted to pay for my name brand insulin, so it was switched to a generic. DR.ATWELL never, not once called me, emailed me ( thru my chart) or sent me a letter informing me of the change. Not one thing did she do. I started to see my sugar levels going up , substantially . I called the office. Talked with various nurses. I asked them what do we need to do to try to get me back on Lantus? They told me Dr. ATwell could put in a request to the insurance company. She supposedly did this. She then a couple weeks later had her nurses call me back to tell me it was denied and there was nothing more they could do. SHE LIED. I called the insurance company and was told by the agent that was not what she was told and they sent me a copy of the letter they sent her. First she should have tried raising me dosage.. she NEVER DID> NEVER even suggested it. SHE NEVER… even suggested I come into her office until I was beyond mad, and knew she was a liar. WHEN I asked the nurse for what reason did she want me to come in and I was told so she could " talk" to me. SO I am suppose to take a day off from work , pay a co- pay and go ' talk " to her. Several of these phone calls are recorded. Dr. ATWELL tried calling me only after I filed a complaint with the UW and the State. ONLY AFTER. She is a danger to her patients. Lack of common concern. I switched Dr.s to a non-uw dr. HE reviewed my charts, and my meter recordings and his comment was " clearly" this is not working. HE not only fought to get me back on lantus but made changes to my meds until we got the o.k. for the Lantus again.
