Dr. Karina Shulman, MD

Awful!! Stress me out more.

During my one and only visit with Dr. Shulman, she advised me to cut my medication in half. When I told her that missing just one dose of the medication causes negative effects, she dismissed my experience and insisted that I wouldn't notice any difference with the reduced dose. When I did in fact experience severe symptoms, I called her office in tears and left a message with her staff, who said they would contact her right away. Dr. Shulman never called me back. She also did not return the call of my primary care doctor, who was concerned about my symptoms. I will not be returning to Dr. Shulman and would not recommend her to anyone.

Dr. Shulman was rude and not at all compassionate. I saw her only once, for a preliminary appointment for anxiety. When I told her I can't take medication because I'm trying to get pregnant, she told me she couldn't help me because that was the only option. She dismissed me after 20 minutes, offering no alternative suggestions, not even for a different doctor.

She is very nice and outgoing. Listened to my needs and concerns. Would definitely recommend her to others.

I would not recommend this doctor if someone PAID me to! She doesn't listen, doesn't seem to care, and accused me monthly(which is how often I was seeing her) of not taking my medication(which I was despite it not helping). The entire clinic is pretty much worthless. Do not go to San Fernando Mental Health. It's not worth the stress.

I would definitely not recommend this doctor. She is difficult to get a hold of and her office staff is rude (hung up on me three times in one day). I am very unimpressed with the level of care provided by this doctor and the mental health clinic generally.
