Dr. Karine Thevenin, DO

I had the misfortune of speaking with Dr. Thevenin as she was the on call Dr. I had forgotten to call in my refill for a medicine which you cannot stop cold turkey without risk of serious side effects. Dr. Thevenin returned my call & asked what is your problem? I explained that I had forgotten to call in my refill, am all out, and have concerns about stopping the medicine cold turkey. She explained that it is my responsibility to call in my medicine and she needs 72 hours notice to call in a script on the weekends. I politely asked her what the day of the week had to do with my body and how it reacts to not having meds. She told me if I feel symptoms, go to the ER. What a ruthless, cold hearted, and rude person. Why get into medicine if you’re going to treat people this way. I’m 40 years old, very responsible, perfect credit, work very hard, and happened to miss calling in my script before the holiday weekend. I should really be punished and belittled for that!

I visited Patient First in Easton, PA this past Sunday and found Dr. Thevenin-Smaltz to be thorough in questioning and testing to diagnose my malady. I had a "difficult" case and was fortunate to get assigned this expert doctor. She was very pleasant, respectful, knowledgeable. If I need to visit Patient First again, I would hope to get HER!

My experience with this provider was wonderful. I found that she took time to talk tome and to think through all of the possible diagnosis that my symptoms could be related to. I felt that she was attentive and truly interested in getting to the bottom of my issue.
