Dr. Karis Dampier Knight, MD

Dr. Knight is the most caring and loving person I know. I fully believe I owe my life to her. I would highly recommend her to anyone that needs psychological help.

If you want to pay to have her talk about herself and her family and not much about you, than this is the doctor to go to. I went to my 1st appt. which was suppose to be at 11 a.m. & I sat there until noon just to be told to come back at 1:00 because it was time to go to lunch. I went back at 1:00 and waited until 2:10 to get in to see her to listen to her talk about her family 90% of the time and charge me $120.00. She would only give me enough meds for a month so I have to pay $60 to see her again to get them refilled and once again she was unorganized and late and listened to her talk about her family. She would only give me 1 refill this time around and now will not respond to the pharmacy or myself for a refill because I owe her money. That is okay, because I will not go see her again. She is unorganized, you pay to listen to her talk about herself and her family, and she is not on time to scheduled appointments. Other than this she is very nice and very talkative.

It is very hard to get an appointment or call back. I think their billing department is the worst. I got a bill after one year saying I had a balance even though I always paid in full at time of service. Not sure were the charges came from and they were never really explained, UNETHICAL!!!! I urge you to find a more professional office with professional office staff!!! Her insurance billing is the worst I have ever seen.

I have seen Dr. Knight probably about three times for treatment of my ADD. Having ADD herself, she tends to spend more time talking about her children and other unrelated topics to my personal diagnosis. This wouldn't be a problem if my insurance actually covered any of these visits and if they didn't cost TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS. Absolutelty NOT worth the money. The office manager (her husband) has always been extremely rude and unproffesional to me in regards to when my family will pay my bill ... which, like I said, is usually around $200 a visit and they expect it then and there. Which is ridiculous, in my opinion, when you consider the fact that most doctors offices will set up payment plans for you. But when I've asked about setting up payment plans they never, EVER do it for me and avoid the subject, asking for a mode of payment THEN AND THERE when I've told them I can't pay it all RIGHT THEN. I've asked multiple times for them to mail my mother my bill (they said they did, we never… got it) and every time my mom has tried to call them about my bills they don't answer. She leaves detailed messages, and they never return her calls. This has happend 10+ times. This past visit (my LAST visit), I waited OVER an hour to discuss her son getting married and a court case she's involved in that (while the case is outraging) is totally irrelevant to me having ADD and what medication I should be on, study strategies, etc. Around the end of the visit, she told me she'd like me to try some brand name liquid methylphenidate instead of the generic stuff I've been taking ... come to find out, my insurance doesn't cover that medicine, it's $200 out of pocket and when I tell her that she can write an appeal and send it to my insurance company telling them why I need to switch to brand name she dodges the question and acts like she doesn't know what I'm talking about. Then tells me that I still owe for the last visit. I told her I would come in to pick up my normal prescriptions and she said that there would be a "pick up fee" since I couldn't make a payment on my latest bill. Well considering the prescription she wrote wasn't covered by my insurance in the first place, I sure as heck shouldn't have to pay a ridiculous "pick up fee." Like I said, she's only in it for the money. Now I have to find someone else to fill my prescriptions and I start back to school in a week. Steer clear of her and you won't be in this ridiculous predicament. I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. She's a friendly lady, but a terrible, unprofessional psychiatrist.

Just Beware -- You can do much, much better.

impossible to get a call back. impossible did i say impossible is an understatement. time waiting for you appt. filing of your insurance takes a very long time.

Absolutely the most uncaring Dr. I've seen. Only in it for the money. Could care less about the patients well-being. Will never recommend this Dr. to anyone I know.

I have been to SEVERAL psychiatrists over the past ten years or so, and I have never found one as accommodating and intelligent as Dr. Knight. I absolutely love her. She and Rick (part of the staff) took me in as a patient when I had a bad experience with another psychiatrist (horrible doctor), and other psychiatrists may have considered me a risk, and I must have called twenty psychiatrists and Dr. Knight was the only one who believed in me. She is not only an excellent and thorough psychiatrist, but a saint, in my opinion. She has been a part of saving my life. I absolutely love her and do not mind waiting a few extra minutes, because she takes all the time that I need. I missed my appt. one time, and she even sent me a letter that read to not ever let financial reasons keep me from making my appts, and that something can always be worked out in that regard. I have NEVER had a Dr. of any kind send me a letter like that. She truly cares about her patients, and it shows big… time. That is why I drive an hour each way to see her. She is worth every dime and mile.

I don't feel like this Dr. has been any help to my child and the staff never calls back when they say they will, if they call back at all. Finding a differnt Dr. for my child.

I would definately recommend Dr. Knight. She has been very helpful during my most difficult times.
