Dr. Karl Lawrence Horn, MD

My husband saw him 23 yrs ago for Meniere's Disease had not had any problems til 2 yrs ago started having problems with other ear/hearing loss, dizziness. All other ENT's could not help him. We came back to Dr. Horn and he has been able to bring him back to having a good quality of life with no dizziness. We totally recommend Dr. Horn!!

Woke with Sudden Hearing Loss and after learning that I should see an ENT asap, I called offices. No one had an opening. Dr. Horn's office took me the next day. SHL, I learned, is best treated as soon as possible with steroids and Dr. Horn took my hearing loss seriously. I took the steroids and within three days, my hearing returned. I am usually not a big fan of the medical world, but Dr. Horn answered every question and explained why without any sense of condescension. He was as pleased with my recovery as I was. He knows his stuff and takes the ears of his patients seriously! A word about the staff: the office is very busy which does not stop the staff from being friendly and helpful. I appreciated their professionalism and kindness very much.

I saw this doctor twice for Meniere's disease that has caused deafness in one ear and my other ear was showing the same progression. He said, "I have no concerns about you losing the hearing in your good ear." I am now almost completely deaf. I called his office for a steroid injection and treatments options that must be done early on to preserve hearing and was told first available is three months away. I'm only 46. I do not recommend this doctor as he doesn't care at all about my hearing and was rude at the last office visit because I didn't want to take diuretics (have had a serious reaction in the past).

Dr horn and his staff were superb. His technical expertise is without question Which is exceeded only by his bedside manner. He answered all my questions which were numerous with patience. Please ignore any negative reviews. This doc knows his stuff.

This office has the most unprofessional staff I have ever encountered. The tech did not introduce herself, was verbally abusive and then refused to perform the procedure when I spoke up and asked to see her supervisor. The office manager insisted they have never had any complaints about the tech therefore I must be the problem. I have worked in healthcare for 15 years and the one constant has been nurses and doctors caring about their patients. This is not the case at this clinic. They truly DO NOT care about the patient.

Dr. Horn cares passionately about his work, and is an excellent clinician. If you are looking for "small talk" during the appointment, go elsewhere. Dr. Horn is all business.

He is by far the best ENT in New Mexico! I went to the Mayo Clinic in Phoenix and the said I needed to see Dr. Horn in Albuquerque New Mexico for my reoccurring cholesteatoma! This man knows ears! It may take awhile to get an apt but he is worth the wait! It's incredible hard to find an ENT that knows as much about cholesteatoma. At the mayo clinic the Doctor even refered to him as the cholesteatoma King. He is worth the 3 hour drive!

Pray you beware! This is the most hostile doctor and staff I have ever encountered. If you like to be treated like a human being, than stay away from Dr. Horn. He is absolutely arrogant, hostile, defensive, and aloof. I just cannot get over the HORRIBLE experience I had today. I am a student nurse and my goal is to protect patient's from doctors like this. Why have I waited so long to bring my daughter back for a follow-up? Well, I believe I have answered this. If you can go elsewhere, I highly suggest you do so.
