Dr. Karl Vance Sitz, MD

Dr. Karl Sitz, M.D., FACP, FAAAI specializes in the treatment of allergic conditions and asthma in children and adults. He received his doctor of medicine degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, followed by a three-year residency in internal medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Little Rock Veterans Administration Hospital. Following a year of general internal medicine practice in the U.S. Army at Ft. Polk, LA, he completed a two-year fellowship in allergy and immunology at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He continued his career as a research scientist and clinician at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research and the Henry M. Jackson Foundation. Upon his return to Arkansas in 1996, he joined the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences as an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics and the co-director of the Sinus and Allergy Clinic. He joined the Little Rock Allergy and Asthma Clinic in 2000, where he practices …clinical medicine and serves as the Medical Director of the Clinical Research Center, testing promising new treatments for asthma and allergic diseases. Dr. Sitz is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, with an added qualification in clinical and laboratory immunology, and the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology as well as the American College of Physicians. Dr. Sitz is married to his wife of over 30 years with two adult children. He is a native of Little Rock and currently lives in Benton, AR. He spends most of his leisure time involved with various church-related activities, including international missions. He is the founder and co-director of the Immanuel Optical Ministry, which has provided prescription and reading glasses to thousands of poor people around the world. He and his wife also lead the local church Operation Christmas Child Packing Party, which has provided shoe box gifts and good news to over 10,000 children around the world.
