Karla Lessman, PA-C

Karla Lessman, PA-C, is a physician assistant working in pulmonology at Methodist Physicians Clinic Westroads Office Park.
She became interested in becoming a physician assistant after an encounter while taking her child to a PA for the first time.
Lessman worked in emergency and family practice medicine in Crete, Nebraska for three years before deciding she needed more time at home with her family. A friend introduced her to the pulmonology group at Westroads Office Park. They were looking for an advanced practitioner to join the team, and that's when Lessman became part of the Methodist family.
Having now been with Methodist for more than 20 years, she loves the friendly atmosphere she finds herself in every day, and she is grateful for the opportunity to empower her patients.
"I feel my goal is to be a patient advocate and educator," Lessman said. "The more they know about their disease process, the better they can fight it."
She enjoys spending time with her family, golfing, …cross-stitching, traveling, being active in her church and participating in Relay for Life cancer walks. She once spent a summer on an international volleyball team and has run the Boston Marathon. She has participated in several mission trips and dreams of becoming a medical missionary one day.
