Karol Darsa, Psy.D., PhD

Karol Darsa, Psy.D., is an accomplished trauma psychologist with more than 20 years of experience in trauma and mental health disorders. Over the course of her career, she has authored The Trauma Map: Five Steps to Reconnect With Yourself, founded the Reconnect Center, and developed the Reconnect Integrative Trauma Treatment Model (RITTM). Her professional work reflects a longstanding commitment to helping individuals heal and reconnect with themselves.

Dr. Darsa attributes her dedication to trauma healing to her own experiences with childhood trauma. Her early professional role as a foster care social worker for abused children further strengthened her compassion, sensitivity, and resolve to support survivors. Originally from Turkey, she has lived in the United States since 1992. She offers therapy in English, Spanish, French, and Turkish, and is also conversational in Italian and Portuguese, enabling her to serve a diverse population.

Dr. Darsa is known for her gentle, body-based …therapeutic approach, shaped by extensive study and advanced training in a range of trauma modalities. Her work integrates insights from Christine Schenk’s CHRIS-Technique, along with EMDR, Brainspotting, Somatic Experiencing, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Gestalt Therapy, Energy Psychology, and Mindfulness. Through this integrative framework, she helps clients understand the connection between mind and body as a foundation for trauma recovery.
