Dr. Karyn Michael Wiest, MD

First we were taken to the room and instead of saying hi or how is your son doing the first thing that was said was take his clothes off . Felt like a fast food service instead of a child's doctors appointment. They proceeded to take measurements ect . Since ever time he has visited the doctor he can remember being poked with a needle for immunizations, so naturally he was wiggly and scared . The nurse tried to hold his hands very roughly so i stepped in and tried to hold him. She then grabbed his foot to take a measurement and screamed at him and said no .She said he had kicked attendant. I told her he didn't understand she said " he needs to understand". I needed to protect my child and told her i wanted a different nurse and did not appreciate her attitude. She got infuriated and got in my face in a very threatening manner. She said that it was her or nothing, I left with him and told her i wanted to speak to her supervisor. As we are leaving in the hall way she is seen… screaming and saying to come back to the room and speak with the doctor when she had just said it was her or nothing. Another staff person put us in another room. It was then she said her attendant should be seen because he had kicked her. It was not in issue when it first occurred but until after we where waiting to speak with her supervisor. This staff person is very dishonest and manipulative she has no business in this field. The doctor has always been very good to us , but because of this nurse we will not be going back. The nurse always has the same calloused attitude when we go. Great doctor horrible nurse.

We ended up going to this office due to a lack of options thanks to our insurance. The front desk staff were great, the doctor was even great, but everyone else... My son has PTSD, anxiety disorder, and now we're finding out that he might have autism, so he's got issues and can be a handful. The nurses and medical assistants at this office are horrible. They snapped at my son, made him cry, no patience and that was something that I had actually planned on speaking with the doctor about that and the fact that I ended up getting into an argument with one of her staff members who refused to take no when I withheld permission to contract an old doctor on the kids behalf, because that doctor had overprescribed and abandoned the kids without a refill, to force them into withdrawal from anti-anxiety medication. The other issues was them calling me once, leaving a message claiming that they'd been calling and I wasn't getting back to them rudely. They'd only called that one time, caller ID and… call history help prove that. They then decided to send a postcard instead with the medical reason why they were calling for my daughter, releasing her medical information on the back of the card, which violates several of her rights. All this was going to be taken care of next week when I got a chance to speak with the doctor. However, I just received a certified letter that they were discharging my children from their practice because of "Relationship issues" or however they worded it. I have never had a problem with any staff member, been rude, or allowed my children to be rude. anywhere Because of their conditions they've had a great deal of therapists and doctors in their lives and never once have we ever been kicked out of a service, asked to leave, etc. This was just a shock, the unprofessionalism is just unbelievable. No call, no nothing, just a certified letter discharging the kids like that is just, wow.

I was running late for my appointment for the annual physicsl for my 2 daughters. Only 20 minutes as was first day of school. Called to notify but after 8 years was told had to cancel. Next appointment was in a month at same time. Secretary was inpatient and rude when was asking questions as concerned mom. This was second incident with staff. First time wad told came in at wrong appointment time and had to wait two hours until end of day even while waiting room was empty, in case soneone came in. Felt was being punished as a mom. After 8 years, ready to move on. Dont feel good or best care for my 2 daughters.

My 2 year old doctor daughter has been seeing Dr Karen Wiest since she was newborn. From the beginning Dr. Wiest always brushed off our questions, and assured everything was ok. Being a new Mom, I thought maybe I was over reacting, especially since she was recommended to me by my AMAZING OBGYN.On my 1st unpleasant appointment, my daughter was about a year old. I took her in for a really bad cough and congestion. Even though my daughter was unable to sleep nor drink a bottle because she could breathe and coughed until she threw up. Dr Wiest assured she was fine. Over the course of two days my daughter began to run a fever of a 102, I took her back in and she was then diagnosed with bronchitis! Recently on my 2nd unpleasant appointment, I took my daughter in on a Friday for congestion, cough and FEVER, and once again Dr. Wiest sent me home, saying everything is fine and she has a fever because her body is fighting off a minor cold. In less than 24 hours my daughter became worse and was… running a constant fever even with over the counter medicine to reduce the fever. Monday morning I found another doctor and got an emergency appointment who advised me my daughter had an ear infection and sinus infection. I am not a doctor, but I do not think a child develops such infections over the course of 24 to 48 hours! I will never go their again!!!!!

Dr. Wiest's staff is always friendly and helpful! They know my children by name and always make them feel comfortable. And Dr. Wiest is excellent with the children as well. She always gives explanations about her diagnoses and gives me time to ask questions. And I feel I can always call the office if I have a question, no matter how "insignificant" it might be.

We came to this doctor after having a terrible experience with the nurse giving shots at our previous doctor. It was like night and day! The nurse here was amazing! My 2 year old didn't even know she got her shot! The doctor was very friendly and we didn't have to wait at all. My only criticism would be that the nurse asked some medical history questions in an area that was not private. Happy to have found them!

I love Dr. Wiest!

Dr. Wiest is so kind and caring to me and my children. We rarely have to wait for more than 5 or 10 minutes and if it is longer she always apologizes. She explains things in an easy to understand way and makes me feel very comfortable. I highly recommend her and would not take my kids anywhere else.

I can't recommend Dr. Wiest enough! She's AMAZING. Down to earth, easy to talk to, great with both of my children. Always available to answer questions. Her staff is always friendly and good with the kids too.

Dr. Wiest is an excellent doctor and makes my son feel comfortable during the visit. I have never had any concerns about her or her staff. In fact, she gave us her personal cell phone number while my son was being treated in the hospital. The head of pediatrics at the hospital had great things to say about Dr. Wiest. She may not have the typical white coat bedside manner some are used to but she is a wonderful doctor and very friendly. My ob/gyn highly reccommend her and I would reccommend her to any parent.
