Katalin Scherer, MD

Dr Scherer is excellent in all ways. She talks and explains all so you completely understand . She doesn't rush you through your appointment. If you are accompanied by someone she makes sure that they are comfortable and also understand all she is doing and recommends.

Dr. Scherer is exceptional in my care and knowledge of my condition.

I would not recommend this specialist if anyone is looking for great care and a compassionate doctor who's best interest is the health of a patient. She took no time with me and did a quick check up for reflexes and strength, looked at me and said I was perfectly fine and sent me on my way when that was clearly not the case. It was true my high blood pressure was down (prescription by GP) and one pupil larger than the other (went away by itself), headache (2 Tylenol) but didn't address other symptoms (Neurology in my legs, constant pain in my back and shoulders, etc.) She just told me "This was all she was called in for and I was healed, you don't need to come back!" Stay away from this doctor and keep looking to find a doctor who really cares for the patient's overall health.

a terrible terrible doctor

My sister went to Dr. Scherer and has since passed away. She told me that Dr. Scherer was rude, unprofessional, condescending, and had a terrible bedside manner. My sister was diagnosed with ALS and this doctor acted disinterested and had no compassion. I promised my sister that I would submit this review on her behalf so others would choose a neurologist that cared. What an awful experience that my sweet sister had to deal with someone who made her feel like a burden before she died.

Dr. Scherer did a good job of identifying a rare neuromuscular disorder based on my clinical exam and history of symptoms. While it is possible to have the disorder and not have blood tests indicate it, nor have spinal impact for many years, she chose to blow me off and release me instead of taking the opportunity to follow a very rare case and support me through its development and changes. She seemed to be angered by the fact that I sought a second opinion from another neurologist across town. She rather pointedly said, "You can go to that other doctor, you're released from here." I had hoped to continue with treatment guided by Dr. Scherer, but now I'll go to the other doctor with a different organization, not Banner. What a sad way to act as a professional!

She’s horrible. Totally unwilling to take responsibility for her actions. I asked her to do 4 things for me at one of our visits, she dropped the ball on 3/4 and then had an excuse for each one that involved blaming someone else (even me, insinuating I’m just stupid). VERY bad bedside manner. When she diagnosed me with FA she was happy she was right and couldn’t hide it, and then proceeded to give me the worst case scenario. Also very lazy. Doesn’t return phone calls and doesn’t do what she says she will. Go to someone else.

Dr Scherer is the worst physician I have ever encountered.

I would not recommend this specialist if anyone is looking for great care and a compassionate doctor who's best interest is the health of a patient. She assumes one is 100%in best health if you haven't arrived in her office in an assistance device or have been bed ridden and are looking horrible etc....can't shower comb your hair, dress nice keep up good hygiene. She took no time with me and did a quick check up for reflexes and strength, looked at me and said I was perfectly fine and sent me on my way when that was clearly not the case nor did I get any better. Stay away from this doctor and keep looking to find a doctor who really is a doctor for the good of human care.

Dr scherer needs to develop some social skills dealing with patients . She was completely rude and acted totally disinterested in meeting with us. I would not recommend her at all to anyone anytime
