Dr. Katayoon Goodarzi, MD

Dr. Goodarzi gave me helpful insights on my blood workup that my other doctor didn't catch. She gave me helpful advice / motivated me to have a healthier lifestyle. She is always positive and super professional. She is knowledgable / experienced and in indefatigable in her effort to ensure my wellbeing.

I was seen by Dr. Goodarzi for acute anemia. She's thorough and an excellent hematologist. I also find her to be a doctor who genuinely cares about her patients, and a very lovely person. I was so impressed by Dr. Goodarzi and her ability to treat my condition, which actually wasn't fully diagnosed until I saw her. Dr. Goodarzi on my first visit realized that my anemia could be the result of 2 underlying problems given my history - which up until then was overlooked by all my other doctors, including other hematologists I had seen. The condition she detected I had never heard of before, so I wouldn't have even known to ask her about it. I am so thankful to her that was thorough with my evaluation and history. The second problem she detected, if it continued to be untreated, would have eventually led to very bad health problems. And the treatment to cure it was simple antibiotics. She also was extremely responsive to making sure I got an iron infusion prior to a surgery I… needed, and making sure I am back to get the proper follow-up. My mother also sees Dr. Goodarzi, and raves about her all the time.

She was rude in her conversation and VERY incoherent in her explanations. Not a good specialist to consult with.

It was recommended I see a hemotologist and living in the area I chose MGH and was given Dr. Goodarzi as my doctor. Thus far she has been kind, thorough, answers all questions and explains things in a clear way without dumbing down the information, is calm and takes me seriously when entertaining my “Google medical knowledge” questions, and will even call by phone just to answer any questions I may have. As for wait time, I can’t remember but I never felt I waited too long at all. People can expect things to always be exactly on time AND have a doctor spend quality time with a patient explaining things when necessary. I would rather my doctor do a thorough job than rush me out.

She is very knowledgeable, experienced and smart, She paid spacial attention with exceptional care, and professional manners. During our ( my father and I) visit, she took her job very serious, committed to treating her patients.Even after our visits with her prompt follow ups, She put our mind at ease. We are extremely pleased.

She is a very caring, kind, and professional doctor, very easy to talk to, explained everything in details and took her time to talk to me beyond my visit time. She always called me with urgent test results and was able to see me back right away.
