As a physician assistant at Methodist Physicians Clinic, Katelyn Larsen, PA-C, enjoys educating patients about their health.
"I believe patients become empowered when they're fully involved in their own health care, and that involvement is based on a foundation of understanding," Larsen said.
She chose her specialty in family medicine because of the variety of cases she's able to handle and the opportunity to follow families throughout their lives.
Larsen wants her patients to know that she'll listen to their concerns and communicate in terms they can understand.
She believes that The Meaning of Care involves an individualized approach.
"It means putting my best foot forward with every patient, offering them compassion and treating them as I would treat my own family," she said.
Larsen, who was born and raised in Council Bluffs, is married and has two daughters. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, traveling, being active, spending time in nature and meditating. She is also a hospice …volunteer.
