I quickly recognized that my interest in plastic surgery stemmed from enjoying the ability to physically create something with my hands. Additionally, with plastic surgery, I can treat all parts of the body and on a deeper level, people’s self-esteem. This is why Restore SD …Plastic Surgery’s motto is “bringing your inner beauty forward”. What is your approach to plastic surgery? My approach is to take the surgery being considered in the context of the patient. There is no one size fits all operation – every patient has unique challenges and expectations and to achieve great results it is critical to have a collaborative approach with my patients. This means taking time to listen and get to know my patients and their goals. What is your favorite surgery to perform?I really enjoy doing breast surgery. I have a lot experience with breast reconstruction – when I was a Navy Plastic surgeon, I truly enjoyed helping women restore their breasts after a cancer operation. We used to joke that I am there to help make cancer suck less. With that foundation, I can appreciate the complexity of aesthetic breast surgery and use my experience to help women who want to enhance their breast shape and volume. This can include placing or removing implants, lifting, or reducing the breasts or creating natural volume with fat transfer.
