Dr. Katharine Mary Obrien, DO

I give Dr. Obrien 5 stars but the staff 3 stars. Dr. Obrien is thorough and caring. Because of that she runs a little behind. The wait is worth it knowing that I will get the attention I need as she's giving others the attention they need. She's very knowledgeable and I appreciate her no nonsense approach. I'm very glad I finally found a doctor in the Hemet area that I trust.

One star, because there's no zero option. It's a little bizarre reading these Polar opposite reviews. Apparently Dr O'Brien is a doctor Jekyll, Mr Hyde personality. Several years ago.I took my daughter in to get a vaccine waiver for school. My daughter has a genetic mutation that makes vaccination especially risky for her. I chose Doctor O'Brien because a DO is supposedly trained to take into account lifestyle and other risk factors when making decisions about medical treatments.It was our first visit and she was curt and condescending. She was clearly in a hurry and spent all of 10 minutes with us. She didn't know anything about the genetic mutation and said she doubted it would influence her willingness to sign a waiver. She said she would look into it and her office would contact me. 15 minutes later, as we walked through the door of our house, I got a call from her office telling me that the doctor had looked into it and was not going to sign the waiver. I can see how she must… have gone pretty deep into the subject and gained a profound understanding of the genetic mutation and its effects and contraindications in those 15 minutes. Needless to say we have never gone back.

I found Dr O'Brien to be an excellent doctor.I have had a complicated case in the last few years and she has been right on the money with her diagnosis. She is extremely thorough and referred me to specialists appropriately

This is the worst doctors office I ever been to, it’s a long wait to get an appointment and when you finally get in to see the doctor she keeps you waiting for over an hour before she sees you, the staff is rude and lazy they offer no help in anyway. Don’t wast your time coming here.

I feel my first visit went well. She asked me my concerns and went over them with me in my exam. I felt the time she spent with me was adequate as all doctors are very busy in this area. We have already set our next appt. :)

I was given a med that made me sick.

As self-centered as they come. Couldn't take a different perspective to the point of being rude (threatened) when asked intelligent questions about my wife's treatment.

Dr. O'Brien is efficient, yet thorough, and she is attentive to what you say.

I very picky about Doctors as my grandfather and several uncles are in the field. I highly recommend Dr. O'Brien to all my friends and family. She has a practical and no-nonsense approach to care, which I enjoy. She smiles, educates, and lays out the options, which is what I prefer from a Doctor. Further, she is not married to the strict medical model but appreciates all avenues of healing, which is why I trust her knowledge far more than that of other doctors. She researched and correctly diagnosed what was wrong with my mother after numerous misdiagnoses from other doctors and hospitals--now that's commitment. And several times she helped us thin out the cocktail of meds the staff doctor from the nursing home kept trying to give her.

Very rude doctor, talked down to me. Has a horrible bedside manner. Will never go back again!
