Dr. Katherine Elizabeth Ayers, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Ayers for a few years. I stepped on a nail and she insisted I have both tetanus shots. I told her I just had one in the last 5 years, so she went back to look through the records and sure enough ... I was correct. Left me feeling like she did not take the time to really understand my health record or care enough. Gave her another shot for annual checkup for lipid panel, etc. Could not get in for 4 months? Why? As a current patient, why? I have found another internal med doctor who is more concerned.

I hadn’t had a good physical in years. I recently saw Dr Ayers and she made me feel very comfortable, letting me know everything that she would be doing as we were going along. I was very pleased with her attitude and smile the entire time, so much that I already made my appointment for my next physical for next year!

I have been seeing Dr. Ayers for a few years now. I am often unable to get an appointment with her, because she is hardly in her office. When I can get an appointment scheduled; she is dismissive of anything that I say to her, and often rude. Her beside manner leaves much to be desired, as I have actually caught her rolling her eyes, or heavily sighing when I try to discuss something with her that is of concern to me. She acts as though I am wasting her time. Keep in mind that I am not a hypochondriac. I cant stand going to see doctors, so I try to avoid it at all costs. My experiences with her only cause me to find more ways to avoid seeing doctors. It is apparent that she only became a doctor for the prestige, because she clearly doesn't care about her patients. This seems to be a pattern with University Hospitals, as someone I know uses another doctor with all of the same issues. Cleveland Clinic is MUCH better.

The Doctor is very easy to work with. She tries very hard to make sure you understand what she is talking about and is willing to take the time needed.

Takes time to hear patient's feelings. Knowledgeable. Open minded.
