Dr. Katherine Lee Boyd, MD

I normally do not write reviews, but I feel it is important to share my experience so other patients can make informed healthcare decisions. I visited Dr. Katherine Boyd for a replacement of an intrauterine device (IUD). During the procedure I experienced significant pain, and the discomfort continued and worsened afterward. Because the level of pain felt unusual and concerning, I contacted the clinic multiple times seeking guidance and support. I was sent for an ultrasound through the clinic and was told that everything appeared normal. However, the pain continued to intensify to the point that I was unable to sit comfortably or continue normal activities at work. Due to the severity of the pain, I eventually went to the emergency department for further evaluation. The physicians there performed another ultrasound and informed me that my uterus had been torn during the IUD procedure. Learning this after previously being told that everything appeared normal was extremely… distressing. I wish my concerns had been taken more seriously when I first reached out for help while experiencing severe pain. Patient safety and clear follow-up communication are extremely important when complications occur. I am sharing this experience so that other patients can carefully consider their options and ask detailed questions before undergoing similar procedures.

Dr. Boyd has been my GYN for twenty years. While I did not have children, she did diagnose and surgically-repair a complicated condition. Before, during and after my surgery, she displayed warm and genuine care to me and to my family. Over literally decades, I have found Dr. Boyd to be consistently-invested, curious and supportive of my life and of my well-being. Her diagnoses and treatment plans have been spot-on. Her new offices are top-drawer. Her staff has always been great to me. During my last visit, literally five staff members interacted with or took care of me and each was kind, helpful and warm.

She was my DR with my first child. She solicits genital surgery on newborns and pushes it with outdated stereotypes (only showing her age & lack of education). She pushes C-sections and was only "attentive" to my pregnancy once the office realized that my insurance covered all my prenatal care at 100%. At 37 weeks, I was told by staff there that they were surprised I did not yet have a scheduled induction. I rarely saw Dr Boyd and she only spent more than a few moments with me when I brought my grandmother with me to an appointment. Her bedside manner is atrocious. The entire staff here was rude, besides one receptionist. The nurses made comments about my stretch marks as if being pregnant wasn't stressful enough. Glad I found much better care elsewhere for my later pregnancies. I do not recommend this Dr at all if you are pregnant, there are much better options in the area.

I love Dr.Boyd, she is not my obgyn but she was refered by my obgyn to do an outpatient surgery. She talks to you like she knows you and that makes you comfortable, she make jokes and can be funny!??? Without Dr. Boyd me or my son or both of us wouldnt be here today! I dont understand the negative comments in here but with my experience, she have been amazing!??

I went to her along time ago and she wanted me to have an abortion. She was telling me there was something wrong with my pregnancy. The office was dirty looking the medical assistance we nice but when I stopped going they called asking why I wouldn't go to this doctor anymore and I told them I found a way better doctor and I did and had a wonderful baby and proud to be a mother. This doctor she don't care about babies she don't care about anyone. It's all about money. I hope no one goes to this women she does not know how to treat her patients at all

I'm always nervous about ob visits and was hoping this would be a good one, seeing that I'm pregnant. My experience with the staff was great but the minute she came into the room the entire vibe changed. She's rude, condescending, pushy and her bedside manner is horrible. (Maybe because I'm on Medicaid) I leave every appointment in tears and am currently looking for a new OB. She pushes for unnecessary tests and constantly refers to me as a "bigger girl". As a woman she should be more sensitive when dealing with a pregnant woman. Maybe if she had ever been pregnant she would know more on how to properly treat soon to be mothers. It's all about the money.

Dr. Boyd is wonderful. And her office staff is fantastic. I was nervous to have the exam after a previous horrible experience but she was quick and it was over before I even knew it started.

Dr. Boyd was my OB for my first pregnancy. I saw her only a couple of times throughout the entire pregnancy. Most of the time, I saw the NP and was rushed through my visits after waiting 45 minutes + in the waiting room. I had to ask questions as the NP was rushing out of the room. They do not spend adequate time with their patients and have long wait times. In my experience, Dr Boyd does not provide evidence based care. They started weekly pelvic exams around 30 weeks or so which I have come to find out can be dangerous and unnecessary. Once they figured out that my insurance covered my prenatal care at 100% they made me do blood work all the time as well as weekly or bi weekly NSTs which were all unnecessary and were not explained to me no matter how many questions I asked. The receptionist was very snarky with me. I explained to them that my insurance had no copay and my prenatal care was covered at 100%. Instead of contacting my insurance like professionals, they hounded… me about everything and treated me like a liar. There was one receptionist who was nice, though. This doctor is extremely induction and cesarean happy. Be extremely careful if you must see her. She had awful bedside manner with me but of course was cheerful and kind when I brought another person with me for support. "Big baby" is absolutely NOT an evidence based reason for induction or cesarean and this doctor pushed me into a c section when I could have had a perfectly healthy term baby. I am so disappointed with the care that I recieved before and after having my baby. This doctor also pressures for medically unnecessary genital cutting of boys (her only reasoning was that "he'll get made fun of in the locker room" scenario which has been disproven and has nothing to do with health). I'm guessing it's so she can make extra $$$ (creepy). At my 6 week checkup after birth, they didn't even check my incision. I had to ASK what to do with the tape that was on it as they were leaving the room.

Dr. Boyd is a great doctor however you rarely see her the nurse practitioner is also pretty good but at times you do feel rushed for the amount of money that we pay

amazing Dr. very knowledgable in her field. Non-judgemental. caring. kind. cool!!!
