Dr Katherine T. Hsiao, MD

I trusted Dr. Hsiao with procedures. However, as the time went on, she didn't listen much. During appts. she talked very quickly and even got me mixed up with another patient. Since a procedure I had done was very positive and had to do another I wanted to have her do it. It was worth just accepting the other stuff. I was only respectful, so I was shocked that office called to say she won't see me and canceled a very needed polyp removal I was already schedule for within a couple of weeks! Long story short, she made recommendations and had me do tests and had me do second opinions. I appreciatively did everything she told me to and had to change an appt. because a test result wouldn't be in time. First she said she declined to be my doctor because of noncompliance. When she realized I did 'comply' to everything, the reason was changed to 'cancelations'. I only canceled ONCE on my own. All other changes, not cancelations were either Dr. Hsaio's (not having a results) or the… office. Why would I ever cancel or change for no good reason? It's almost impossible to get an appt. with her. I only changed a procedure date, for a good personal reason. And now that reason for declining me has since changed again. What is clear from hearing what the office said: Dr. Hsaio is very busy and only works in SF two times a week and has a lot of patients is why I got booted. I've never heard of being fired by a doctor. I was respectful and admiring of her, even when she got arrogant and didn't let me get a word in edgewise, I Still respected her to do procedure. Now I am left in the lurch. She simply needed to get rid of patients and I was the easy ticket. I would understand if I was belligerent or disrespectful, but she just wanted to get rid of a compliant patient who asked questions when a very serious procedure she wanted me to do arose and I needed time to think about it and changed it to a later date (but not even for that reason -just personal stuff). I guess she considered that difficult and made up a cancelation issue. I see now what other bad reviews say. It's either her way or the highway and she just has too many patients and she can create a reason out of nothing. She couldn't even say it to me since it was made up (or in her mind). This was an extremely unethical decision Dr. Hsiao made. I would pay attention to the other negative posts. You may or may not get whacked, but I wouldn't start out if I had understood her true character.

A truly caring Doctor. Spends time with patients, answers questions without rushing you. Wonderful.

Dr. Hsiao is the best OB/GYN I have ever met. She makes me feel totally comfortable even when I'm telling her the most embarrassing things! She delivered my friend's baby and was calm and amazing and made it a really special day. She's also a great surgeon and does robot surgery that a lot of OB/GYN's don't do. See her, you'll be so happy!

Dr. Hsiao is a great doctor. She practically saved my life when I had an eptopic preganancy many years ago. Shes always been very personable and I would highly recommend her..
