Dr. Katherine Ellen Nichols, MD

I wish she was here in San Diego!!! She was my son's Doctor 33 years ago. My son just had newborn twin babies born 3 & 1/2 months too soon. How awesome it would be if she could be here taking care of them. I know they are in good hands at Children's. It took a lot of cussing and yelling to get them there. Scripps C.V. was going to send them to their La Jolla NICU. I was about to call Dr. Bradley who was a young Doctor at Children's back then, he was the one that came to Grossmont on one occasion when I had to call Kay on her cell after hours. She happened to be on duty at Children's that evening. I think he is the Medical director at Children's now She knows I was a verbal hot tempered mom who knew when something was wrong with her baby. But I knew my child and my hot temper saved his life because I never backed down My son loved her as well.

Dr. Nichol's is an awesome doctor. Her experience is extensive and she doesn't waste time trying to baby my child. She lets me deal with the emotional stuff and she sticks to getting straight to the medial stuff. She's a straight shooter and will not waste your time with unnecessary treatments/visits just for the money. Her staff is awesome and I've never been turned away for a visit I thought was necessary immediately due to my child's discomfort or worrying symptoms. I wouldn't trade her as my child's doctor!

She was my son's pediatrician when she was in San Diego. My son really liked her a lot, and so did I. She was the one that listened when I said something was wrong with him at a ER visit. She agreed and was persistent. It ended up my son had Meninjitis. I ended up changing Pediatrician and got her instead of my son's original one.

I did not like her at all! She had one of the nastiest attitude and kept telling my child to be quiet when my child was talking to me. Her diagnosis was wrong and I ended up going to another doctor in that facility and I have been with that doctor every since.
