Dr. Katherine Ann Roberts, MD

This 1-star rating is more than generous. I have seen many doctors but have never before come across one so arrogant and inept. Mrs. Roberts told me during an office visit that it was a good thing I brought my husband to my appointment as I would be needing the emotional support for the news I was about to recieve. Mrs. Roberts then sat us down and told me that I have Cushings Disease. She made this diagnosis with no testing what so ever. After proper testing, I did NOT have Cushings. Her arrogance is completely unjustified as she is mediocre at BEST. Current office staff is rude and fails to follow through with basic requests. Please look elsewhere for a reputable Endocrinologist that cares about your health a little more and less about money and ego.

DO NOT GO HERE!! Not one star, I’d give it -5. Picture this- you get several text messages leading up to your appointment, telling you your appointment time is 8:25. You get a text at 7:10am saying you need to check in with a link, and you do it by 7:35. You go through your medical history, your medications, current symptoms, and even take a photo when prompted for their record system. You do this immediately after receiving the “check-in” text, by 7:35am it is complete. You gather your meds and have completed a list of things to discuss with the doctor you have been waiting to see for MONTHS. At 8:25, you are IN the parking lot, looking for the building, and you receive a phone call from a receptionist saying, “we’re calling in reference to your 8:25 appointment.” You respond, “I’m pulling up now!” And the receptionist says, “well unfortunately, we are going to have to reschedule your appointment.” After some back and forth, the receptionist (NOT a DOCTOR) says, “well, if you were… serious about your health, you would have been here on time.” If I could give this place a negative star rating, I would in a heartbeat. And if YOU want to start a relationship with a doc who won’t cancel your appointment when you’re sitting in their parking lot, DO NOT GO HERE.

Dr. Roberts exemplifies what every patient wants. She spends the time she needs to care for her patients. I am grateful to have moved here to have access to be cared for by an Endocrinologist who is so well trained.

The first endo who actually examined me and charted the nodules on my thyroid. Thankful for her.

Stay away unless you like to be frustrated!! The staff is rude and difficult to work with. They will cancel you appointment without reaching you. No remorse when they made a very obvious mistake. If you are reading the reviews and not sure if you should believe the good or the bad, please know the bad ones are accurate!!

Rude and condescending.

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Roberts. I am going all the way from Newport News, VA to be her patient because she and her staff have been a lifesaver to me. I have Graves Disease and Celiacs. No one had diagnosed the Celiac disease but as soon as she saw my lab report she pinpointed that problem. I had believed this to be the case. She's not warm and fuzzy, but she is very professional and takes a great deal of time with you. She's a good communicator, which to me is very much more important than anything else. She called me at home, herself, when she saw a lab report she was concerned about. Not her staff, but her.

I have been to many doctors over the past 15 years due to Hashimotos, as well as, infertility issues. What I have learned is that life is to short and precious to stick with a doctor that will leave you feeling worse then when you came in to see them. I am an engineer, so I want to know the facts, I do my research, and am prepared for whatever a doctor's medical opinion is regardless of whether I agree with them or not. But anyone who has written in with a positive word about this doctor is either ignorant or related to the doctor in some way. By far this was the worst experience I ever had with any doctor. I excused my self and walked out after 5 minutes with her. Abused is the word that comes to mind when I remember how I felt when I left. Reported her to the medical board and my referring family doctor. But after 7 years I see she is still in practice. Amazing that anyone would pay to see this doctor. Did not even want to rate with one star. Doesn't deserve it.

I have had a thyroid condition since I was a child (now in my 30's) and have seen MANY doctors through the years for it. Most doctors simply looked at my labs for a second and sent me on my way. Dr. Roberts was the first doctor to ever explain more about my disease to me, keep a careful eye on my levels throughout pregnancy, and her staff is the BEST I have encountered. They are never rude and short with me like the office I used to go to in Newport News was. At all of my previous doctors, when I would call for anything at all, using the best manners possibly, I was literally talked to like I was completely annoying them. I also repeatedly (for years!) had trouble actually getting them on the phone. Dr. Robert's staff has gone out of their way to make me feel welcome and is always available when I call. I can say the same for Dr. Roberts herself. She has honestly always been kind to me and knows her stuff!
