Dr. Katherine Watson, MD

Dr. Kate M. Watson is a dual board-certified colon and rectal surgeon at Colon and Rectal Surgery Associates, a division of Minnesota Oncology. She holds board certifications from both the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Watson obtained her medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon, where she also completed a rigorous five-year general surgery residency. She subsequently completed a specialized subspecialty fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Watson maintains active professional affiliations with the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons, the Association of Women Surgeons, and the American Medical Association.

Clinically, Dr. Watson specializes in advanced surgical techniques and compassionate colorectal care. Her practice focuses on laparoscopic and robotic surgery, the comprehensive management of colon and rectal …cancer, the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, and targeted therapies for pelvic floor disorders. In addition, Dr. Watson has focused clinical expertise in evaluating and treating benign and complex anorectal disease. By utilizing modern minimally invasive platforms, she performs precise interventions designed to alleviate painful symptoms, protect functional anatomy, and accelerate postoperative recovery times for all her surgical patients.
