Please do not go to Dr Downey if you are looking for a DR that has your best interests at heart. Dr Downey should retire. All she does is pawn you off on so called nurses, and "her" staff to help address your medical issues. This office is rude and does not return your calls. Do your self a huge favor and look for another Dr.

Friendly & personal...Dr. Downey takes time with you. She has always referred me to excellent other doctors when a specialist was needed.

I have seen Dr. Downey for years. She is very kind and always takes the time to sit down and talk with me to get to the bottom of the problem. She listens to me and asks a lot of questions. Her office is friendly and I have always had good results from the staff, making appointments, getting prescriptions or copies of reports.

If you don't bow down and worship the mystique of the doctor you may not feel comfortable there. I have my issues with the medical profession in general and they were told for 5 years not to call to verify appointments. I took exception to it when they did and they streeted me and accused me of being mental. Just because someone doesn't kiss their feet does not make them mental and she is not certified for that anyway.

Do not go to her if you are a new patient. She doesn't listen anymore. For some reason she wasn't accepting new patients for awhile. Perhaps there is a crisis in her own life and she is just not at the top of her game anymore. She doesn't have the patience or the care that she apparently used to have. I had an appointment for a physical and she did not complete it. She jumps to conclusions and judges you. Her staff is kind but unfortunately very lax and incompetent in their work. The to top it off the Dr. scolds you for their mistakes. Not worth the time. Look for someone else.

Although I think Dr. Downey is a fine physician, she has a small office and some of her staff members are terrible. In particular there is a women identified as "Sue" who has been unpleasant and unresponsive. I have recently moved to Florida and need my medical files sent to me. I started with a letter, then followed up with a phone call 2 weeks later. I have gotten the run around by her and when I asked in desperation to speak with Dr. Downey she said "No, and Dr. Downey is sitting right here next to me". Then she hung up on me. Unbelievable... Her latest is that they are "entitled to take 30 days to copy records" - so much for caring about patients (oh, and I was one for over 10 years!). If you have anything other than ROUTINE care needed, I would recommend trying a larger practice with more responsive staff.
