Dr. Kathleen (Kit!) Grissett is unlike any psychiatrist you’ll ever find. I was lucky enough to get in as a patient 4 years ago, a year after unexpectedly losing my Mom to cancer. I’d never dealt with grief, trauma, emotional pain & distress...which led to depression & anxiety. She has spent countless hours of the past 4 years not only helping me to treat my mental health medicinally, but she has genuinely listened, talked through issues, helped me navigate through pregnancy & postpartum with my 1 & 2 year old sons. I was able to come back from the mental & emotional pain because of Dr. Grissett. She truly cares about her patients and she will spend as much time as you need, she prioritized my postpartum anxiety & depression— spending hours talking through it and encouraging me to deal with my unresolved grief, depression and anxiety through therapy. She helped me get better and she helped my husband to support me through it with her real & empathetic advice. She also has helped… tremendously in my continued treatment for my sleep disorder, Narcolepsy. She has a calm demeanor, relatable & kind. Psychiatrists are known to spend little time with their patients, as they purely are there to medicate you for your underlying conditions. But Dr. Grissett is THE exception. She spends time to listen, talk, & never rushes a patient out the door. ??
