Dr. Kathleen Anne Leinen, DO

I really like Dr Leinen. She is my PCP. I have been with her for about 6 years. My only complaint has been the business office at Family Practice. They are frustrating and inept. That, of course, is the main reason she only rates less than five stars. She makes excellent referrals. She has now left Family Practice.

Dr. Leinen is the BEST doctor I have ever had. She is so caring with any concern I have. She doesn't rush you in and out. She takes her time and truly listens to all concerns.

I'm very happy to have found Dr. Leinen. She took the time to truly listen to me & explain things. She is very thorough and dedicated and compassionate. She found things that others didn't. Therefore, I am very grateful.

I have had several disturbing experiences with Dr. Kathleen Leinen. To begin with, I object to the fact that she is very quick to suggest meds and surgery. For instance, when I had several nosebleeds, she set up an appointment with a specialist, with the goal being that a cauterization be performed. This was without my knowledge, as I, the patient, learned of the appointment when I was informed of it by a staff member via a telephone call. I cancelled the appointment. I solved the nosebleed problem by using a nasal saline spray and a pot full of steaming water on the stove. A second example of what I consider poor judgment as a doctor, is her apparent lack of checking out the specialists to whom she makes referrals. For instance, I was referred for a sleep study and when I checked out the location where the study was scheduled to take place, I discovered it was in a run-down, secluded alleyway off San Pedro Ave, in which I had to search for the entrance. I was fearful in the daylight,… and the appointment was set for 9:00 p.m. with one male technician in attendance. Needless to say I did not keep the appointment. I could continue, but this should be sufficient to illustrate my lack of trust in her judgment and her performance as my PCP.

Extremely thorough. Listened to my concerns and addressed them well. Showed genuine concern. In short, a very knowledgeable and caring doctor. Glad she's my doc.

I just moved to the area from out of state and needed to establish care with a family physician. I decided to use my annual physical for this purpose, good thing too as I am now in the process of looking for a new doctor. Dr. Linen is a nice person, but that is about all I can say positive. I have worked in healthcare for the past 10 years and this is the first time that I have been compelled to write a review. My first visit with Dr. Linen was to go over my new patient paperwork and get a lab slip for blood work in preparation for my physical scheduled a month later. During this time I received my results back and before I'd even had my physical a prescription was called in for me for a drug that I have never taken nor had it ever been recommended that I take it in the past, needless to say I told them I'd pass and wait for my physical to discuss it with her further. The day of my physical comes and the visit lasted at best 15 minutes of which the longest part was the… EKG with the tech. She came in shortly thereafter told me the EKG looked good, looked in my ears, nose and throat and the physical was over. I did not even have to put on a gown or sit on the exam table, needless to say I do hot feel that I have had my physical this year; I've merely just marked the box on my list of to do's. I also asked about the Rx and asked why I was given a prescription for something that clearly only needed diet and exercise to bring back into line, she just said OK and we'd retest in 4 months. My previous doctor took a good 30 to 45 minutes for his physicals and when you left his office you knew that if he hadn't found anything then it wasn't there to begin with. So, if you are looking to check the box that you've had a physical then this is the doc for you. If you are like me and want to make sure that you're in the best physical health you can be or at least feel confident that if there is anything wrong your doctor will find it early; then this isn't the doctor for you.
