If you want to have hope stripped away and be told how much time you have to live according to statistics…cause you’re just a statistic. And considering I didn’t ask and discussed with my wife, we wouldn’t ask. Expect no personalized treatment or receive any information that can’t be googled. Get the occasional awkward pat on the shoulder with terrible acting like maybe she feels bad. But then quickly washes her hands to move onto the next statistic. Then this is the Doctor for you! No outside the box thinking, no help with the fight for your life, no help with navigating clinical trials or other opportunities. Hope can increase the amount of time you stick around and every gained day is another opportunity for a new treatment to become available. So keep your statistics, unless someone asks for them, and treat people as individuals.
