Dr. Kathryn Balazs, DO

Short story: unethical unprofessional, and disrespectful; don't waste your valuable time. Long story: made an appointment to see Dr. Balazs only to be told when I showed up that she was on vacation, and I would be seeing an NP. It's unethical to bait and switch in general but especially when someone has expressed they need help with an actual medical problem and has made an appointment with a specific practitioner. I declined the appointment; was angrily told that the NP is as capable as the doctor. That's puzzling because the doctor's credentials seemed pretty impressive, including a post-graduate fellowship on the very same issue I had hoped her to address, but apparently unnecessary if an NP can also diagnose & treat this problem, even though my family doc- also an MD- was stumped and recommended Balazs because she's a specialist. The front desk operator then blamed me for making the appointment online. Wth? I was clear on who I wanted to see and why; they don't respect YOU. Run!

It was my first visit at Dr. Balazs office, I wasn't impressed at all. She made her diagnose super quickly( maybe she is so good?), but didn't listen to my other concerns. I felt like she is in hurry and want to see another patient. I would not recommend her to anybody.

After 5 visit & using all my HSA, she accomplished NOTHING. NEVER did a biopsy as explained from the 4th visit. Meanwhile I'm still suffering with the same symptoms that took me there.

Finally a doctor who got it right !! Wonderful, 99% cleared from severe psoriasis. Best feeling in the planet !

Overall very good and thorough doctor. As with any doctor, have your questions prepared in detail and pack in that 10 minute visit!

Dr. Balaza was quick to recognize the problem with the open wounds on my legs, prescribed two ointments and an antibiotic. Wounds healed within two weeks. She also was quick to recognize the stiffness and swelling in my joints and referred me to Dr. Shobha Wani, Rheumatologist who quickly diagnose me with a borderline case of rheumatoid arthritics. With out Dr. Balaza the condition probably have progressed. I thank her for her attention to detail and for not pushing the symptoms aside. Thank you.

I see Dr. Balazs for 2 reasons: (1) skin cancer monitoring and (2) callous and wart removal on feet. The first is conducted annually, and the second is now monthly (until the wart issue is resolved). Dr. Balazs is solicitous and interactive. Although I have seen Dr. Balazs annually for pre-cancer analysis and removal, only recently did I ask her whether she works on feet. She said, "Of course!" She then looked at the bottoms of my feet and said I had warts, but she couldn't do much until we removed the callouses. Warts? Callouses? I thought everyone had lots of callous build-up on their feet (I never examined the bottoms of other people's feet to find out). Turns out that I build excessive callouses on feet (and elsewhere). Who knew? I had been limping to a succession of doctors for 45 years, and no one told me the root problem. I had a particularly painful spot on my right foot which doctors, at various times, diagnosed as a plantar's wart, bone spur, thickened callous. They… burned off the wart/callous, but it always reappeared, and others said I should have an operation to remove the bone spur. Dr. Balazs began a regimen of callous removal. Once the callouses were peeled away, many warts appeared. I never knew they were there. Then, she treated the warts. Those little critters are resilient, but I now know the ENEMY. Furthermore, my feet feel better than they have felt in 45+ years. I couldn't be happier with Dr. Balazs as my dermatologist.

So happy that I went to Dr. Balazs. I have been to 2 other dermatologist in the Dayton area and for the past 2 years they could not control a rash I had around my eyes. I even went to an allergist. Dr. Balazs help me & within 2 - 2 1/2 months the rash is gone!!!! She is very friendly and listens to what is going on with you. My whole experience with this office was great! I would recommend this office to all my family & friends.

I had a great experience with Dr. Balazs. It was easy to schedule an appointment. There was a time or two where I had to wait for a long period of time to be seen (I had a total of about 10 sessions). I developed a large keloid in my groin area after a surgery. I thought I would have to go back into surgery but Dr. Balazs was knowledgeable about treating it and treated it with steriods. It went from a large keloid to something that looked like a scar. Very Satisfied

After waiting 1 hour and 20 minutes Dr Balazs was a no show
