Dr. Kathryn Dayao Gopez, MD

I completely agree with the first review. Dr. Gopez rushes through appointments, doesn't seem to care for any questions esp from first time moms and no warmth at all. Gave her another chance on our next appointment thinking maybe she had a bad day, but she was the same cold doctor. We switched doctors asap.no thank you, next!

I'm also surprised at the one-star review; our first interaction with Dr. Gopez was in clinic for one of my newborn's first post hospital visits. His jaundice levels were a little high and she was wonderful about calling to follow up and making sure she was checking his numbers over and over again. When she saw them going up, she immediately ordered a UV blanket and again called to make sure everything was working properly. After showing so much care for my son, we promptly switched over to her as his primary pediatrician as well for my older daughter. She's a mom herself, which I really appreciate and is reassuring when it comes to parenting choices.

First I just want to say that I am surprised by the other one-star reviews. Right now it's 4:30am and I'm googling Dr. Gopez to see how far she is from Santa Clara (because I have many closer Kaiser's and a decent pediatrician for my daughters) but I just really liked Dr. Gopez. She never made us feel rushed and I just felt like she had a great perspective on kids. It's 2019 and Dr. Gopez was my older daughters doctor in 2013 before she moved locations and now with my second daughter I'm googling how far it is to drive to Redwood City at 4:30am. Anyways, I appreciated her care for my daughter (wish she'd come back to santa clara) and hope she's doing well.

This was the first appt after choosing a pediatrician for my son. Front desk Registration delayed appt start time and she entered room very standoffish. Aware that I was first time mom she rushed through the wellness check and did not do a thorough examination. She said she did not want to be late for other patients. Unable to ask further clarifying questions about what to expect the next few months with my newborn she quickly disappeared. I really felt like she doesn’t care to get to know her patients and only is in the profession for its prestige and not passion. I left the appt very uneasy knowing that my son was under her care. I will be changing pediatrician!
