Dr. Kathryn Jeanette Kostic, MD

I was over 35 when I got pregnant. Dr. kostic did not push tests on me that I told her I didn't want. When my son was born with Down syndrome and a medical complication she was right there helping me through it. She continued to follow up after we were discharged. She helped deliver the Down syndrome diagnosis perfectly by only focusing on the positive and congratulating me for my beautiful baby boy. I wish some of my other friends who had children with Down syndrome had a doctor as caring as her. Inwould recommend her to anyone!!!

I could write a book here, but I won't. Dr. Kostic is a very personable and engaging doctor. I liked her from the beginning, and I suppose if things had gone well, I would like her still. BUT, she missed a huge birth defect, and a ton of red flags that warranted more indepth care. She didn't share some of the things that were there, and the possible implications. She also disappeared when things went wrong, and only reappeared when I demanded it. As someone who reviewed my ultrasounds said (I didn't divulge what I was looking for), "Please tell me they caught this." Nope, they didn't. I had a subsequent pregnancy with a doctor at Columbia, and the quality of care was 100 times better. Will never go to her again.

Dr. Kostic seems interested in one thing...delivering babies. Forget about menopause, forget about menstrual issues.Both my daughter and I saw her, and we both dropped her.
