Dr. Kathryn Clare Twenter, DO

Since moving my mom in at John Knox Village Assisted Living, we have had the privilege of having Dr. Twenter as her physician. My husband and I have been very impressed at how well she interacts with my mom; she is so sincere and caring - I recommend her 100%! A well-educated, kind physician - just the one needed for elderly patients.

Very poor communication with family, does not check the proper labs, does not look at the chart when making treatment decisions, makes inaccurate statements about family in her medical records, has put my mother on a medication based off a "high d-dimer" when there was no d-dimer level ever drawn, did not check UTI with major change in cognition, would not respond when asked what labs have been drawn, would not perform dip stick as a preliminary test to a culture and sensitivity, when Mom went from alert and walking with no assistive devices to asleep and wheelchair bound, she did not do all of the labs she should have done and we had to send her to the ER because she was not being properly evaluated.

Poor communication, poor follow up with tests, too busy, blames everything on cognitive decline and dehydration when emergency room said my mother’s severe and sudden decline was due to UTI and prescription dosages were too high. My mom was quickly wasting away and Dr Twenter was going to take no action even discouraged us from taking her to ER.

BEWARE!! She is part of Kansas CIty Medicine Partners and you have to go through them to get to her. I waited 4 hours today to connect with her office. Then was given wrong information.

She is intolerant of the elderly and she states she specializes in geriatric. I would not recomment this physician to anyone. She needs more patience and acceptance of someone who is in their 90's.

Horrible doctor doesnt care about patients at all, terrible bedside manner.Not sure why she went into medicine.

Dr Twenter did not inform me of what tests were done and their results, she did not come face to face or talk with me to discuss what she concurred from these medical tests. She was judge, jury and executioner. Dr Twenter did not have any of my medical history to support her diagnosis and displayed an bias toward me.
