Dr. Kathryn Shroyer Young, MD

I have been coming here with my children for many years. There is a wait sometimes and sometimes we are in and out. Dr. Young and her staff really show a care and compassion towards the health of the children. They always find a way to help us get in the same day to avoid after hour clinics. I recommend Dr. Young to everyone!

This is the absolute worst experience you can have at a pediatricians. The disorganization and lack of concern for their patients is mind boggling, not to mention if your child is sick you can never get in, she wants go to the ER. Always a minimum of 2 hour wait past your appointment time in the waiting room, and usually another hour in the room. Dr. Young is a mess. My grandson WILL NOT be going back. He was in today, for possible pneumonia, and she wanted lab done, so go to lab and they have no orders, call her office and they're gone for the weekend,(on a Tuesday at 3pm) or so their recording says. That's ridiculous.

She has been seen my kids doctor for long time now. she has always been great the staff is great also. If my kids are sick they will get us in, I read some of the other comments here but just like any doctors office you will have to wait. Even at my regular doctor I have to wait that is normal the staff is great they help you out. they have a great view also you get to see the helicopters and the lake my kids love it. if you need a doctor come see her and her staff

She's been seeing my daughter since she was a couple hours old. We are getting close to those teenage years now. Dr. Young has been amazing through all the changes through the years. She pays attention, gives great advice without judgement, listens to both parent and child. She takes the time to get to the bottom of each issue, and makes each kiddo (and parent) feel like the most important thing in the world. We have been blessed to have her.

We waited almost 2 hours after our appt time. This was her first time meeting me or my son, and the "Dr." Didn't even introduce herself to me or my son.. Didn't ask us if we had any questions, and she just hurried out the exam room. I asked about a follow-up, she turns her back and says 2 wks as she's walking away... So unprofessional and unkind! She herself looked awful, like she hadn't washed or brushed her hair in a week... This was our first visit and I'm hesitant about even going back! The only positive thing was that we had a very nice receptionist/medical assistant, Steven. And yes, he was running the front desk and triage... Oh and the biggest thing, she told my son to lay down and felt his belly. He started to lean up and she pulled up the front of his pants to look at his wiener! My son freaked out and her excuse was he was a new patient... So she has to peak at my sons wiener?!? K am very concerned..

Dr. Katy was great, but needs better management. Office staff openly and loudly discussed opinions of other patients/parents. Wait area was hot and smelled of urine. Called and asked for my credit card number over the phone - then sent me a HANDWRITTEN receipt on notebook paper. Was asked to lie to my insurance company to cover their filing delay mistake. NOPE.

My 2 year old was diagnosed with a heart mumur yesterday. The problem is that diagnosis took place at his 2 year well check up with a different doctor. Apparently that one "slipped through the cracks" with Dr. Young. She also neglected to give him 3 shots that he was supposed to get at his 1 year appointment. We endured the waiting for a long time (my daughter is 6). She double books SoonerCare patients so expect to wait every time. We battled with them on insurance and billing. We often got bills from them a year after the fact. Thankfully, we made the change to someone who will look after our children.

My daughter has been seeing Dr. Katy since she was born and absolutely adores her. We had some problems with my daughter during her first year and Dr. Katy always worked us in. The wait times are sometimes long, but based on our experiences, I believe it is because she works in every sick child she can, and takes the time to fully examine every child and answer every question the parents have. She doesn't cut us off and make us leave with questions unanswered just because our time is up. Also her office staff is laid back and casual, which makes it easier for the kids to relate and not be as scared as they would be in a more traditional, clinical setting. I also like how she rotates medical students in and out of her office. I use the idea of seeing so many students rotate through her office to reinforce a good education to my daughter.

When we first went to Dr. Young she was the better than other choices. But when my son was born, she missed many details including important developmental things we should have found out earlier in his life. Her office staff was not good with filing insurance, nor with follow-up visits, and definetly not medically trained or schooled to be giving shots to children. She's made a lot of money off her patients by scheduling her patients for follow up appointments without them knowing about it and when they do not show up, she charges them a fee for no show visits. She is a very nice person, but I would not recommend her as a pediatrician.
