Dr. Kathy Darlene Short, MD

Took weeks to get an appointment, then was called by the doctorâ??s office and scheduled me another week out. During the appointment was very attentive and knowledgeable. Told me that she would call in prescriptions for my maintenance medicines that I take. The medication was not called in that day. The following day I called and they asked again what pharmacy I used and would call it in. Still no medicines called in. After numerous calls over nine days and complaints two of the medicines were called in. Each call was stressful, and some of the staff was very rude. Dr. Short only works at this location (Carroll County Hospital) three days a week, and during this time there is no coverage for her absence. I highly recommend not using this facility unless you only have a cold and can wait it out.

It is not uncommon to wait an hour and a half to two hours to see Dr. Short. She doesn't seem to know many basics and spends a lot of time looking things up on the computer. She never calls in prescriptions promptly either. I had an appointment with her 11 days ago, have called the office twice, and my prescription has still not been called in to Kroger's. I am so tired of her laziness that I am switching to a new doctor. I encourage others to do the same if you want quality care.

She has been my primary care provider for the last six months and has met me once. I have needed medical care many times, but she is never available. She would not know me if she saw me. Patients do not mean anything to this doctor and it shows in her lack of professionalism.
