The best OB/GYN! Great beside manner and patient with all of my questions.

When I called to make my appointment, I ended up being put on hold multiple times to the point that it ended up taking about 30 minutes to schedule the appointment. That should have been a clue to how the office was run but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I came in for my appointment and ended up waiting an hour and a half past my appointment time. When I finally saw the doctor she was very nice. I went in for my annual exam so it was short and easy. I spent longer on the phone trying to schedule the appointment than I did with the doctor. I also got testing done while I was there and asked when the results would be available. The woman who took my blood said they should be ready the next day. I thought that was a little quick so I figured I'd wait a few days to see if they were sent before reaching out. A week later I still had not heard from the office so I reached out via their portal for the test results. I received part of the results. I sent a message asking for the… remaining results and received no response. I waited another week and sent another message with no response. A couple days later, I sent another request and this time did receive a response. So glad she told me I would get my results the next day when it took over 2.5 weeks and several communications... After all of that, I receive my bill in the mail and am confused. My insurance covers my annual at 100% but I have a charge for a total of $49. I called to inquiry regarding this. Turns out because I asked a question during the visit, I now am being charged like it's a regular office visit. I don't know about most ladies, but I feel like during your annual is the time to ask doctors about any issues you are having. The office manager was very polite in her explanation that they have the right to charge. I'm not disputing if you have the right, I'm disputing if it's right. Apparently, they think it is. Now what's even more frustrating is that my normal co-pay would be $25 but because they coupled it with my annual, I now have to pay double. While I tried to explain this to the office manager, she stood by that it was their right. Again, not disputing just pointing out that they should see the fact that is not right and at least write off the amount due to them down to the co-pay amount. On top of that, I only owe $24 of the $49 because apparently when I visited them in 2016, I paid my co-pay and did not owe it. I never knew this as I was never contacted and never refunded the money. So happy they held on to my money without notice for 4 years. When I mentioned this, she noted that they outsource their billing to India. You are still responsible for the billing even if you outsource it which she did acknowledge but provided no additional explanation why they would hold my refund for 4 years. Thankfully it was only $25. So basically the doctor and staff are nice but they are disorganized, horrible at communication, not empathetic at all, and definitely ones to nickle and dime you.

Un doctor debe estar consagrado a sus pacientes y estar presente cuando se le necesita de modo urgente, esta es la naturaleza de lo que no solo es una carrera sino un llamado a abogar por el bienestar y las vidas de sus pacientes. He sido paciente de la doctora Katia Castillo por varios años durante los cuales le he depositado mi confianza al punto de recomendarla con muchas de mis amigas además de haberle confiado el cuidado de mis dos hijas. Mi hija mayor ha tenido varias emergencias durante las semanas pasadas para las cuales se necesitaba la intervención de la doctora Katia, sin embargo la doctora no contesto ni regreso ninguna de las llamadas que se le hicieron, incluyendo las últimas que las hicieron los mismos doctores del hospital Emory en donde mi hija mayor fue internada a causa de la gravedad de su condición. Los doctores de Emory no atendieron a mi hija el primer dia ya que el protocolo llama a que la doctora de cabecera se encargue de ello, pero dado a que la doctora… Katia no apareció después de un día entero de tratar de comunicarse con ella los doctores de Emory intervinieron al segundo día. Mis experiencias pasadas fueron similares, es imposible conseguir atención de la doctora Katia ante ninguna circunstancia, incluyendo una de emergencia durante la cual no regresó llamadas ni siquiera de sus propios colegas del hospital de Emory. Es obvio que no puedo seguir depositando mi confianza a la doctora Katia en lo que concierne la salud mía ni de mis hija, un doctor tiene el deber de estar a disposición especialmente cuando se trata de emergencias. Lamentablemente esto lleva a que no pueda recomendarla ya que con este precedente es obvio que no se puede confiar en que ella esté disponible cuando se le necesite.

I absolutely love Dr. Castillo! My two daughters and I have been going to her for many years. She is such a kind, loving person. Most doctors these days rush through appointments, but not Dr. Castillo. She takes her time and listens to me. She has always given me very good advice.

La peor Dra no te oye te deja esperando desnuda mas de 40 minutos y luego llega la enfermera para decirte q tuvo un parto no me solucionó mi problema de ovario y me dijeron q tenía hérpes casi mi esposo me deja fui a otro medico y me dijo q no tenía nada son tan mediocres mezclaron mis resultados la peor no la recomiendo para nada quiere mas paciente por volumen pero no dan calidad

Love Dr. Castillo! Delivered both of my babies and performed ablation surgery. Takes time with you and has a great bedside manor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Castillo's for 18 years now. She delivered both of my children and she always remembers details about me and my family from year to year. I cannot say that I have not been left waiting in the waiting room more than I would like at times, HOWEVER... it is easy for us to forget that she is a Doctor and there are illnesses/medical complications that could come up out of the doctors control. Dr. Castillo has always given me the time, understanding and advice I have needed. She is one of the kindest individuals I have ever met and I would recommend her to everyone! As for the lady that commented she would have cut her up if she had not gotten a second opinion... you are wrong. That is not how she is and I know from experience! Dr. Castillo is a professional that takes each individual, their health, the well-being of the child and other medical conditions into consideration for each and every patient! I am so thankful to have been referred to her 18 years… ago!
