Preventable Complications from Unnecessary Procedure I saw Megan Mathew on October 7th for evaluation of a small bump on my right lat. She diagnosed it as a benign lipoma and offered removal. After consulting with her attending, Dr. Nezafati, they proceeded with this elective procedure without adequately discussing: · The high-tension location and associated scarring risks · Alternative management options for a benign finding · My history of keloid formation The wound became infected, requiring antibiotics that caused GI issues for over a month. I missed a planned beach vacation and fitness commitments. Follow-up care felt dismissive—Dr. Nezafati repeatedly insisted “it won’t scar” despite visible hypertrophic scarring, then charged me for scar tape after I’d already spent hundreds on wound care supplies. Three months later, I have a prominent scar that draws comments and questions. As someone who disclosed keloid tendency and maintains an active lifestyle, this outcome from an… unnecessary procedure on a benign lesion has been devastating.

The doctor and staff were VERY nice and we left with our dignity in tact, which is rare in many of today's medical practices that make you feel like you're a bother. I would recommend this doctor to anyone.

About two years ago, Dr. Kaveh Nezafati so skillfully removed from me a moderately sized squamous cell carcinoma that the scar is a pale pink line no wider than a hair. since that experience my husband and I have consulted Dr. Kaveh, as he is familiarly called, on every skin anomaly that either of us has noticed, and we observe his recommendation that we have regular check-ups. His careful study of each skin anomaly inspires in us confidence in his expertise. If there is the slightest possibility that skin cancer may be the anomaly, Dr. Kaveh requires a biopsy--not taking any chances with his patients' dermatological health. Dr. Kaveh's positive and enthusiastic, actually charmingly bubbly, personality puts us completely at our ease. He is never rushed in his examinations, but neither does he waste time. Personable and outgoing, he converses familiarly with us. Although I cannot access "The wait time at the office was about: -Select-" I can report that we have never… had a tiresome wait. Nor have we ever had to wait days or weeks for an appointment to see Dr. Kaveh. Dr. Kaveh's nurses impress us by their efficiency in conducting necessary routine, and sometimes not so routine, preparations for his examinations and procedures. His office staff is courteous and efficient.

Very nice doc, thorough and efficient. Took a suspicious place off my foot. He was kind and I plan to see him again!
