Dr. Kavitha Baddam, MD

I made sure this Dr. took my insurance. I made my meet and greet apt. On a plus, they were able to get me in on the same day. Not many places do that for new patients. The Dr. is explaining to me how the office works and just general meet and greet things. We spoke about my current care. I informed her that I have specialists for each of my ailments. I need a PCP for routine blood work and if I have a cold. She explained to me that Ascension does not really like for her to refer people outside of Ascension. Everyone has to be in that network, even though my insurance allows me to go anywhere. She told me that it should not be a problem. She was going to check on some administrative things and she would be right back. A few moments later the nurse came in and asked me to follow her. We walked to the front and she handed me a sticky note with an ACENSION GENYSIS phone number to find a PCP. Which makes absolutely no sense. I said, "So Dr. Baddam can't see me?" She said, "I don't think… so" I was so taken aback that I just left. When I called to ask her to explain it to me, she said, "I don't know". I asked her who does know, to which she replied, "I don't know" So does Dr. Baddam make less money when she refers outside of Ascension? The least she could have done is be honest and explain to me what is really going on instead of not coming back in the room and sending her MA that, "didn't know" anything. The more and more I've dealt with Ascension the more they feel like a cult. I will NEVER go to their hospitals or "doctors" again.

Dr. Baddam is very quick and fast. Diane that answers the phone needs to learn how not to be rude.

Terrible about calling with test results. Dr has been terrible about prescribing certain meds. Have been her patient for years. Referred several people, am now looking for a new doctor.

Kavitha Baddam is the best doctor I've ever had. Anytime I have questions she is very through and explains the science behind what is happening. She's a walking medical dictionary. When I was in the hospital she took the time to see me when it meant the most! I appreciate her knowledge and bedside manner. I've read a lot of these reviews and it seems like as long as you understand and follow the rules of her practice your fine. I myself trust my doctor and her referrals for services. The prescription mishaps are the only negative that I've experienced. Often times the are sent to the pharmacy near my home instead of near my work or vice versa. I am very grateful that good doctors are around... Dr. Baddam is a GEM! I stick with her until she retires!

I know she is a Genesys doctor but I have a PPO Blue Cross ins that allows me to pick my own providers. She won't see me anymore because I want to go to RMI and not Genesys for imaging. I want to go to McLaren Lab and not Quest. She is "owned" by Ascension but I am not. They get more money if I use their contracted providers, so for her it's all about money. For me, i want to use the services I like and who provide the best care. She was furious and said "There are a lot of other doctors out there. You need to find one". She had me cornered between the exam table and the wall hollering in my face so close I could smell her breath. Also, her staff is rude, they made me cry. Baddam treated me horribly. I went out to my car crying in my stocking feet. She yelled at me too because I asked her MA why she asked me every few months when I go there why I didn't get my mammogram. I always say the same, I had breast cancer and don't have breasts. This time I asked her if she could write that… down somewhere so she didn't always ask me that because I am sensitive about it. They were mad about that too. Just made me sick to be treated like that.

The doctor is prompt. Be prepare to do LOTS of follow up as the staff is mediocre. Most important: Do NOT allow this doctor to treat more than one member of your family. Just you. Not your spouse, your children, your siblings, etc.

Dr Baddam is one of the kindest people I have ever met. She always listens and takes care of what ever concern I may have. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a primary care doctor.

Dr. Baddam is nice enough and she runs on time. Staff varies from adequate to rude. You will need to follow up on referrals and prescriptions from time to time. A word to the wise: do not permit this Doctor to treat any family member other than you. Do not refer your family members to her.

Dr. Baddam is the best doctor I have ever had she is very resourceful and is always willing to go above and beyond to make sure my needs are met.

The Dr. and her medical assistance is great. The front desk staff are unprofessional and never follow up properly. Prescriptions are not called in on time and they never try to help out with obtaining information from other Dr. offices. But they make sure they receive the copay.
