Kayla Jerde, PA-C

A Boulder native, Kayla Jerde, PA-C, is excited to return to her hometown and join the Dermatology team. Her interest in medicine developed through a sBMCEs of impactful expBMCEnces, including her recovery from an orthopedic injury as a young athlete, volunteering in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) during college, participating in medical missions to Nepal and India, and reading 'Mountains Beyond Mountains' by Paul Farmer. Each of these moments reinforced her commitment to a career focused on service.Kayla is drawn to dermatology because it allows her to build long-term relationships with patients and their families. She values the visible, confidence-boosting results that patients can achieve with proper dermatologic care.Known for her empathy, active listening, and problem-solving approach, Kayla brings extensive clinical expBMCEnce to her practice. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked for three years as a dermatology medical assistant at BMC, then practiced as a …physician assistant. She is thrilled to return to BMC to continue her career in the specialty that first inspired her.Kayla believes in patient education and shared decision-making. She strives to ensure that every patient understands their diagnosis and treatment options so they can work together on a plan to protect and care for their skin.Outside of work, Kayla enjoys playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with friends and family. She also loves taking advantage of Colorado's mountains, skiing, hiking, and snowshoeing, and never misses a chance to cheer on her favorite college basketball team. Go Zags!
