Here is a specialist that I found because I got a referral from a Primary Care Physician when I was on an HMO plan. I didn't like being on an HMO, so when I moved to a PPO, I kept him. First, he's amazingly knowledgeable. Second, he gave me a device for my foot (didn't charge me). I had an approval for a foot surgery and he showed me how with this tool I could avoid the surgery and sure enough, IT HEALED ITSELF. Not financially lucrative for Dr. Augustus, but sure made me happy. So I referred a friend to him and he took one look at my friend's painful toe. He told him exactly what he had going on. He took out his notepad, suggested some products my friend could inexpensively purchase (a certain sandal --- my friend's big toe is arthritic and will freeze into place on it's own and is painful. So now Dr. Augustus has two people he cured without surgery and who SING HIS PRAISES. When I saw the 1 star review, that person must have caught an isolated incident or… something. I have been to his office more than a few times now, and I can't say enough GOOD things about them. The staff is friendly, and Dr. Augustus is FABULOUS.

I don't know what could have happened for a patient to give the worst rating, but my experiences with Dr. Augustus has been fantastic. My daughter had an ingrown toenail that another podiatrist a year ago didn't really fix, cut nearly her entire toenail off which took very painful weeks to heal enough to wear closed toed shoes. Dr. Augustus in 20 minutes left her entire toenail intact but for the side which was the problem- No pain, healed in about a week, and she's not had a problem since. He was very nice and explained everything he was doing. I give him 5 stars.
