Most thorough Doctor in Beverly Hills when I first moved there in 1977. Always available and returned phone calls promptly.

My parents were going to him so I did too for over 15 years because I didn't know any better. He thinks he is the best doctor in the world and actually gets angry if he finds out you've gone to another doctor behind his back. He is unwilling to accept any ideas outside of conventional Western medicine and even poo-poos basics like good nutrition and vitamins. The wait is ridiculously long and when he finally sees you it is very brief and if you've done any research about your illness on the Internet, he just gets angry and says "I hate the Internet, it makes patients think they can be doctors."He thinks he is a master at diagnosis, but has never been able to help or diagnose several medical issues in my family.When I had 104 degree fever he refused to prescribe antibiotics over the phone to be delivered and said I had to come into the office. I couldn't physically do it so he said "then call an ambulance." I had to wait for the fever to subside on it's own and for all he knew, could… have died because he refused to prescribe antibiotics over the phone. There was a problem with my insurance at one point and I owed $200. Even though my whole family had been patients of his for over 15 years, his office refused to refill a prescription until the balance of $200 was paid. I have a Blue Shield PPO, but somehow they don't cover this particular doctor. This plan seems to cover at least part of any other doctor's fees in L.A., but a Blue Shield PPO does not cover ANYTHING in his office now.His office seems to be much more concerned about money that patient care, even if you and your whole family have been patients for many years and $200 is not a huge amount. It seems to me to be unethical to not refill a prescription of a longtime patient because of a $200 dispute with Blue Shield. I wish it hadn't taken this long for me to look for a different doctor.

I brought my 88-year-old mother in-law to her 6-week check up. She's been a patient of the Dr.'s for a decade, but you'd never know it--not from the office staff and certainly not from the Dr., who barely made eye contact with her. He seemed only to take her symptom of stomach discomfort seriously when I brought it up, despite it being in his notes from her last visit. He noted to an office assistant that she had anorexia, but didn't think it worth talking to my mother in-law about. I wanted to address that, and ideally discuss lifestyle and nutrition, but after he ordered a CT scan for that day (that would prove a tremendous and unexpected inconvenience for both of us) he vanished, never to be seen again. I can't believe a doctor can be so apathetic to a patient he's seen widowed and now alone.
