Wonderful caring man

Dr. Applegate is an excellent Doctor and I have been seeing him for several years, however my most recent visit will most likely be my last. Today I waited for over an hour before leaving. While waiting there were four patients of various doctors discussing the very long wait times at the practice. One lady said that she brings a book or 2 and expects to wait for nearly 2 hours. The last time I needed to see a doctor I waited for an hour and a half before leaving. I re-scheduled that apointment for the first appointment of the day on a different day, but still waited for 30 minutes. Shame on me for not leaving the practice sooner.

Dr. Applegate was not very thorough, but the worst part was the office staff.. I was in serious pain and they said it would be two months before I could get in for an ultrasound.. ended up seeing another doctor who found a penetrating stomach ulcer.

I called while having a small stroke; they set up appt 2 days later. He said there was nothing wrong. Said no stroke.Said MRI just showed some plaque in small arteries. Said 137/95 BP was ok. Needed to be high to push blood thru arteries. A dr-friend referred me to neurologist. Neurologist said MRI showed 12+ small strokes. Said urgent to lower BP, get BP cuff and check BP 3/wk, take Plavix. Ordered carotid artery ultra sound. Lucky that I had someone refer me to specialist. Dr. Applegate's lack of knowledge and non-care could have killed me.
